Don't know what tires were all tested, but I'm betting Michelins.

I would guess that the new BFG’s would be the on paper favorite going in, when they can out a lot of people called them a game changer.

In the last year I have ran a few different tires on my car some really bad ( Pirelli P Zero’s ) and some I really liked ( Goodyear F1’s )

It will be interesting to see who win’s, but I will go with Goodyear.

To quote Robert Duval "Tares is what wins races"

Its important to understand how those few inches of contact patch impact the dynamics of the car.

Below is how much tire is touching the ground on a 26x12 tire on a 10" rim at 30 psi. Out of a 12" section width tire, only about an 8x4" patch of rubber is actually on the ground. that's not a lot and if you are using something as skinny as a 235, this patch is even smaller.

So, it turns out bigger IS better.

Seriously, I agree. Tires make the biggest contribution to handling of anything you do to your suspension. Big and sticky is good.

Anyone have a list of tires that don't make the over 200 wear rating requirement? And what are you guys running for maximum stick tire wise?

If you want to know what shoes the top drivers are wearing your eyes and ears should be looking at the results out of Lincoln this past week. (However you then need to adjust that for local conditions and your own needs). But if you want to know what tires are bringing in the trophies, the then the Pro Solo finale and Nationals are where you should be looking.
