Looks like I'm needing a 47" 8.75 rear housing with axles prefered. I was told that a 47" housing should put the drum faces 52" apart. If I did the measurements right, that will place the 15x10 Torque Thrust rims in the center of the wheel well.
I will double check my measurements before I make a purchase. I dont want to cut up the 8.75 I pulled out just yet.

You have done good so far. Why not cut it your self and buy new axles?Probably look around for a housing on craigslist and do not cut your a body housing up.Sell that to pay for the new one when finished.I did one, just had my buddy who is a really good welder weld the ends on.

Thanks to all for the encouragement
To answer your question, one word.......skeered!
I'm not a consistently good welder, if it looks good, it's more by accident/luck than skill.
I know that more goes into narrowing a housing than just cutting the tubes and making a pretty weld.
I would do the perches ok but ill draw the line there.
There's a lot to do on the car while searching and or saving up for the rear, I must keep focus. Several mopar swap meets not too far away in both distance and time and I will be hoping to find that needle in the hay stack ( with a little help from my friends ) with tape measure in hand.
I have to do the permanant installation of the radiator, fan clutch, cooler lines and hoses. All of the underhood wiring too. Etc.
That reminded me of an issue with the Hayden fan clutch, no centering/alignment bushing was in the box and it is very loose on the water pump shaft, does someone know if I was supposed to have received one in the box or know of one I can purchase? I believe the water pump shaft is 5/8".
Thanks to all.

I have a solution to the narrowed 8.75 snag!
In two words......Doctor Diff
Dan did say to give him a call but I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive.
Having support from Dan, The Doctor and Mr. Paul Bassett @ PB-Performance all issues resolved. That being said, it doesn't mean I won't be looking for a deal at the next few Mopar swap meets with tape measure in hand.

This better work because I don't think they will accept them as a return after I cut on them
I decided to work a little on the radiator and fan shroud. I think the Rad is for a Polara big block and the shroud is for a Hemi RR.

that's got to go.
The studs and the section of rad bracket.....cut.
The studs don't line up with the holes in the shroud both sides. Need to cut that notch out too for that side of the shroud.

The other side......
I was going to go with an aluminum radiator set-up but the last car show I saw several aluminum radiators looking a bit powdery-white and asked "how do you clean that?" " you don't, just paint it black when it gets bad. Oh......
The OEM looking set-up looks cool to me anyway and I like the Black contrast too.

Quote:

now that shes back on all four wheels i'm moving on to the subframe connectors, moving the springs inboard with a set of superstocks and mini tub'in it. All that needs to be completed before i can have a exhaust system custom fit.

i do have one dilemma with the cooling system i am juggling with.
I would rather run a 26" brass/copper 3 row radiator with a fan clutch and shroud than a Aluminum set-up with electric fans.
I'm looking at a Spectra CU332.
Haden 2765 fan clutch.
Am i heading down a dead end road?

Will it fit? Will it cool?
Fan shroud unavailable?
looks hoakie?

I guess the question has been answered! Short of rad hoses and installing the correct 18" fan I think this should work just fine
I don't think cooling should be an issue.

What would be the upper and lower hose part #'s for best fit?

Back to the Tubs.

I couldn't figure out how to keep the sheet metal tight to fill the rosettes welds in so I improvised.
I knew that scissor jack would come in handy.

The way things fit back together makes me think that Ma Mopar intended it that way!
