This past Saturday at Englishtown I had a freeze out plug come out just past the 1000 ft mark. Was on a good pass, went 6.4 in the 8th @ 110 pullin like a freight train when the rear washed out sending me side ways.I did my best but still tagged the wall with the left fender and the right front tire blew when it curled under, wrecked the rim too. Looks like bolt in plugs and a belly pan are in my near future. Still looking for a left fender & park housing. All skid marks were on the track
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Sorry to hear about the mishap Al, You will find the parts and get it fixed. It was lucky the car didn't roll.

I took this pic on Sunday, it was the first thing I saw as I got in to the pits. I recognized the car right away and was bummed to see it all crumpled up. As I was looking at it on the flat bed he came up and told me what happened. We talked a little and he didn't seem terribly upset. Like we say here in NY whadayagonnado?
In the end, it's just a car and it can be fixed. Hate to think of what could have happened if he was unable to 'make the save'.

A freind of mine had the same thing happen years ago at Speed World in the finals of a 10.5 tire Outaw race, he qualified #1, set low ET and top MPH and won the final BUT a passenger side freeze plug in the head popped out right at the finish line sending him into the left guard rail at 173.+ MPH, he bounced off that rail and bounced accross the track to right guard rail and bounced off of that and ended up in the middle of the track Luckily he didn't hit his competitor in the other lane It did totaled the car He was bruise and shook up but other than that he was unhurt, that is the major thing. They welded all the freeze plugs up in the heads after that. (it was a 460 type Furd )He was on the phone the next day, Monday, trying to get a new chassis built so he could race at the next race that month Drag racing can get in your blood I'm glad your oaky and not hurt and the car is fixable
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
