It was a V-code 4 speed car to boot.....JCG can swallow it as far as im concerned.
So they claim. Plus they are saying the whole reason behind the LS swap was urgency. Somehow, I can't help but think this it was probably a rebody that had been maligned in the mopar world and they figured why not piss on all the mopar guys by going down this path since so many of the mopar world will crucify high end option cars without a spotless pedigree.

I think it was a V-code. But might have had "issues" on it's authenticity.
I think it is for a high profile ($$$) customer. So if the $$$ wants it now and wants it quick...well the customer is always right. I'm sure it would cost more to develop and mopar motor for it. This is a business deal, and they are there to make profit.
I still don't like it.

Here is a Chevy lovers version of a Challenger http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/af278/jcgrestoration/20131212_142817_zps4db17664.jpg
Ugh... I rest my case. Kills everything neat about the Challenger lines. The Cuda has a MUCH simpler design, and one that lends itself to flaring... though again, go too far and it'll look off. The Challenger body comes IN right before it flares out... if you flare out where it flares, you still have the 'in' part, and no clearance. If you flare for clearance, you have to remove the 'in' part.
I totally forgot about Mitch's car. Thats about as tastefully done as it can get with the factory lines i think, but then again, not much improvement, clearance wise (if you're thinking drastic gains).
I'm not going to mess with the front track on my car. Any gains in tire size (and they WILL be massive) will have to be made there.

Would a fiberglass fender be a better/easier starting point for adding flares?
1, it will be easier yes.
2, it will be way lighter.
3, it will save a stock fender.
My car has cherry original paint fenders, and they need some cutting. I almost wish they weren't so nice...
Mine are mint too, that's why I bought new ones to play with.... they make more everyday?
Well, i've never seen FG ones anywhere near as nice as stock (not that i could afford them if i could find really nice ones), and i'll never put that aftermarket recycled pop-can crap on my original car.
Pretty sure i've figured out a way to gain some clearance with only a small hack than no one will see...
Oh, and no pics ov bad flares... Not something i bother to save. Just google '70 (or any 70-74 year) Challenger pictures' and spend a few hours looking at what comes up... you'll see more than a few flared cars.

Very cool brad! Love the car and spoiler ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) I want one.
I've been helping a buddy building one of those, it should hit the track this season. Basically I have the same front end parts in my street Challenger. I've spend quite a few hours researching the kit cars.

Also I have the front spoiler almost finished for my car.
