i find it incredibly hard to believe every HP car in 70 with a 22" Rad came with a shroud from the various assembly lines. Regardless of what the FSM dictates. There's the FSM and then the real world..
my 3 70 V codes had 22" rads and NO SHROUDS..

What does early and/or promo cars have to do with the subject?
Absolutely nothing...considering all the challenger promo cars were 440-6, 4-SPEED, 26" RADIATOR cars!
FJ5 Fish,
Mike said that ALL challenger promo cars had 26" radiators

& how would you know this?
There has been NO evidence provided that a HP engined 22" radiatored A, B, C, E - body car did NOT have a shroud.
FYI: The '70 Challenger R/T convertible 440+6 "US spec. promos" were 4-spd, 4.10s, 26" radiator & shroud. The '71 'Cuda hardtop 440+6 "US spec. promos" were automatic, 3.23s, 22" radiator & shroud.

For whatever it may be worth, not all 1970 promotional Challengers were big block cars, I know of two 318 promo cars with 22" radiators - so far.

I have always wondered why the side brackets on a C Body 22" rad are so different than the ones on A, B, and E Body rads. They do not even have provision for the small brackets that are all on A,B, and E, body 22" rads that are used to help attach the shroud to the rad. So, I would think that Dan is correct when he says that none of his 22" rad cars came with shrouds, there is no way to attach them to the rad. All 70 and 71 440+6 C Body cars came only with 22" rads, the other motors on a C body that used 22" rads would not use a shroud either. I bet there is no a 22" shroud listed in the parts book for any C Body.

none of the 22 radiators have any provision for a shroud.. so not sure how one would be attached.. the 330 shroud i had mounted like any other shroud.. parts book list no shroud mounting brackets or hardware either.. very odd for sure.. never seen a 330 shroud still in a car ..they exist but what did they come in i sure can't say...

not sure those holes were designed to insert anything into.

LOL THOSE AREN'T SHROUD HOLES... never seen any mopar car with anything in those holes on the side of the rad strap.. different manufacturers of rad possibly used these straps on many cars back then.. keep trying.. looked at all 3 of my 440-6 rads and none have any sign of anything ever being in these holes.. maybe some car used them for a shroud bracket but which one?

Hmmm, please post your survivor pics of the 22" rad that you have with the untouched 440 and original 2998 330 shroud attached to it. Make sure to take a lot of close ups for all of us doubters.
