of the two what are the pros and cons to each?
I have owned the SG units, but the Powertrax sound like a nice piece with what seems to be more of a true ratcheting lock feature.
Prices are similar between the two.
The other option is always full spool, but there is so much "do it", "dont do it", discussion for a street driven vehicle that I cant come to a good conclusion on using a spool.
Vehicle would be a 92 Dakota ex cab, shortbox, 5.2, auto with OD, and 3.73 gear in a B-body 8-3/4
No towing, no heavy hauling (the Dakota isn't made for hauling much) I do have up to 200lbs in the bed at given times with my tool box (constant weight of about 80lbs) my spare tire (around 40lbs) and occasionally the wheelchair (another 80lbs)
I have personally used the power trax units in 489 case mopars. they come with street or strip spring sets. use the street set . when letting off the throttle at crusing speeds , you will notice the disengagement of the locker. it will make the vehicle sway at the instant you let off.. it is noisy .. it does pop every few feet when turning.[sounds like something is broken in the rear]. a spool is going to cause problems with tire scrub for highway use... the vehicle will not want to turn easily. the clutch pack units are the most streetable and will hook you up real good -if it is properly installed-they will ware out with abuse ,the p.trax will take a beating and is a simple , quick install.. there's the pro's and con's

For the street (and strip), limited slip SG should do the trick just fine. Powertrax is more for off-road, IMO, poor traction conditions with stock horsepower levels.
