Here's are some CURRENT pictures of the restored 68 Grable Dart.

These pictures do not mean that this car originally had a decoupled panhard bar. The car was restored about 10 years ago locally at Maaco Motorsports. Tim Herren wanted to look at the car to get ideas and he was not allowed and the owner does not talk much about the resto.

Car got wrecked in a vintage event at the Coronado vintage races a couple years back.

Rear suspension pics.

More Dart. I think from a vintage Coranado race.

Wrecked at Coronado. IIRC, talk of a throttle sticking.

Grable's Dart has been repaired, and was racing in the TransAm class at last year's Monterey Reunion.
There were semi-production/homologation rules in TA; for instance '67 Mustangs were not allowed rear disc brakes. By '68, they were homologated.
For many years, the Vintage TA cars were allowed a pretty wide interpretation: for example, the ex-Penske ex-Woods '69 Camaro still had the flared fenders & quarters that Jerry Schwartz put on it at Woods' when later SCCA rules allowed wider tracks, and it ran that way for many years. The Vintage rules have since tightened up, and those flares were cut off & replaced with '69-period-correct panels. Same organization required rear drums on the '67 Shelby Mustang we ran at Monterey last year.

Can't remember for sure, but don't you help or work for a shop that specializes in Vintage race cars? Sorry if I'm incorrect.

Here is a great pic for the panhard thread, you can see their running the bigger shackles to prevent binding

Yeah, guilty as charged. Have a few under my belt; mostly hired on to projects. Not many well-known cars, except the ex-Penske ex-Roy Woods #1 '71 Javelin. The '67 Mustang I referred to was a Shelby customer car still owned by its original purchaser. Each one of course requires research either to confirm that what you have is correct, or to find it.
