UPDATE -

The hood weight is 23.6 lbs measured on a +/- 1 lbs scale.

I thought some might want to see what you get when buying from AAR/Stinger. More expensive for sure, but I can't find anything to complain about. 66 Coronet bolt on. I have not weighed it yet, but it's lighter than it looks. I'll post the weight when I do.

https://www.aarqualityfiberglass.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=188_39&products_id=501

Now if I can cut the hood scoop into 4 pieces and put it back together in the hood without ruining everything I'll be a happy camper.

What does it weigh ?.....and what does it cost ? ....

GOOD stuff ? ... I don't think many people have complained about the quality .... but the WEIGHT and the PRICE .... well I will let people who have had that direct experience take-it-from-here .....

I have one of their bolt on fiberglass trunk lids on my Dart I even have the stock lock in it. Really nice piece you can`t even tell its a glass trunk lid by looking at it.

AAR (Stinger), VFN and Glasstek ... you can't go wrong with either one of them.

Heavy.........sure is . The AAR bolt on 6 pack hood on my Dart is over 31 lbs lighter than the factory flat steel hood it replaced. Customer service? Not good. Pricey? You get what you pay for when it comes to quality.

I have an AAR lift off hood I bought from him at the Indy swap meet in like 1998. I think I gave him 200 for it then about 5 years later bought the scoop. Even being race weight, the hood is excellent quality. I wouldnt hesitate to buy again.

I bought the LAST hood for my Rampage from them.. its
a nice piece... it was originally a 2" scoop and I
wanted 4" so he cut it and added 2".. turned out very
nice... I I would have had the time I would have made
a mold and did it in carbon fiber but time is short
for me.... it took a little work to make it perfect
but the size was right on to fit the hole it goes in..
it measured dead on to my stock hood.... it was a
pin on hood but I glassed in mounting points so now
its a bolt on that can slip off in a matter of 2
minutes... I can still pull the engine and trans as
a assembly with the hood on

My drivers side bowed in the passenger side bowed out. The drivers side also was a 1/2 inch short of the door. The head light bezels did not fit the fenders without major reshaping. And they are heavy, junk . The aar was straight and light, well worth the extra money. In the long run they are really cheaper because there is 22 hours of body work to make the "cheaper" ones fit. So they were really more expensive.

Good quality compared to the other junk out there...only complaint with my hood was the entire thing had a bow to it....sits ~3/4" higher in the center when the front/rear are even with the fenders. but all I did was scuff it and shoot it...paid ~$350 for a bolt on 6-pack hood back in the early 2000's

Originally I wanted to get a hood from aar but sounded like a long wait and I was too cheap to spend that much on a 7k dollar build I was definitely impressed with the stuff aar had on display a few years back when I last checked the stuff out.

I used a Unlimited(up22) ta style hood scoop on a steel hood. It was the only place I could find who sold them. I do a lot of body work and it was as good as a glass piece I've ever worked with.

My biggest issue with fiberglass places has been the wait and lies they feed you of why it takes so long to make a hood. Luckily I haven't had an issue with anywhere like that in years.

...ALL that is ...is where the mold is split so they can get the part out of the mold. Now for the kind of money they get for the part ... that "seam" should have been body-finished.
