I have a 72 cuda and can't get fuel through the 5/16 factory fuel line. It has been sitting for 30 years. Is there a trick to blowing this stuff out? I tried compressed air, but maybe something I can dump in the line? Or do I just have to replace?

Both gas and brakes. But if you must blow gun before the fuel pump or pull the rubber line at the tank.

Absolutely agree......and when a problem happens it won't be at the right time or place.

You can sometimes salvage used fuel lines but it takes some work. The same products used to clean fuel tanks (Eastwood sells a kit for instance) can be used to flush/clean fuel lines of gunk and corrosion. The problem is rust. If you have internal rust there's no telling how much of it there is and if you remove it all successfully you may end up with pin holes. That said if they just have varnish and minor surface rust it's not too difficult to save them. The trouble with some reproduction fuel lines is that they are not all bent precisely and you can have fitment issues.

Thank you for that advice. Im glad you gave me that advice, since I was looking at those particular lines. I do have some 3/8 line in the shed, but these 'cudas look like a real pain to get all the bends just right.

I sprayed brake cleaner in mine and ran compressed air through them a couple times until the cleaner came out clear. It was a mess, but couldn't see buying new lines over nice originals I had laying around.

I may try the brake cleaner thing in the morning and see if it comes out clear eventually. I really don't want to replace the lines unless I have to. Plus I just have a junkyard 440 in it for now to get it running. If that doesn't work, I may try to bend this 3/8 stuff I have. I appreciate all of your advice. I think you are all right on better off replacing, but I am going to get his thing running for a while and enjoy it, then tear it down for restoration.

I have installed plenty of Fine lines on 2 cars, brakes and fuel lines and they fit great, perfect.

FYI I tried lines from both Fine Lines, "The Right Stuff, and Inline Tube. NONE of them fit my Duster properly. Also, another good/cheap flushing solvent is pure Acetone.
