This may be a mute point........ Does anyone know where you can get new/reproduction woodgrain and the pewter chrome bezel inserts for Challenger door panels? This particular car I'm working on is a '71.....

Thanks guys.. I appreciate it... We figured there weren't any, bezels, out there....... So, he's taking his bezels to get rechromed and I'll do the rest with PCG's decals and I'll reinsert the Logo...

I recently did mine. I had 2 pairs with the Triad emblems. I selected the 2 best (out of the 4), removed the Triad emblems by grinding down the peened/swaged post on the backside of the insert; then pushed out the emblems; then I removed the original woodgrain; then stripped the black satin paint, and cleaned everything THOROUGHLY with alcohol; then masked the entire front side (3M Blue Tape); then used an exacto knife to remove the tape within the channel that will be painted satin black (rattle can); after painting and BEFORE removing the tape, I used the exacto knife again (I learned this was necessary after the first attempt without using the knife); then applied the new woodgrain decal (I tried PCG decals, but was not happy. I then bought/used DetroitMuscleTechnologies (DMT) decals, and IMO they are superior and the best on the market); then reinstalled the Triad emblems, and dabbed a little JB Weld on each of the post, let cure, then grind smooth. Came out excellent. BTW - I also used DMT's decal for my 4-SPD console plate. I tried the others, but was not happy with the end result. The DMT stuff is the BEST.

NICE job Joe I don't make them with the cutout. Sorry. You'd still see the nasty old woodgrain piece in the center. the emblems are fairly easy to remove. Just did one the other day. The pot metal is so soft a sharp wood chisel will remove the original peened over boss on the back. Then gentally tap the 3 posts with a punch to remove. I reattached the ones on my car with silicone in case I wanted to remove them again in the future (to switch to the carbon fiber vinyl possibly).

Thanks all,
I removed the emblem yesterday with a dremel and a punch. No problem. My friend is taking the insert to the local chrome shop here in Houston that can work with pewter and repair if needed. James, I suggested your firm for the decals. When I get it, I'll repaint the black trim with the proper satin black and reinstall the emblems. I also am going to try and use the original black arm rest pads, the reproductions Hoss got,, for a lack of a better term, suck........... The fit stinks......
