I have just purchased a 74 Duster /6 car that I will be cloning into a 360 for the PureStock Drags.I have been trying to find info on these cars as to what was standard, optional stripes etc.Problem is I am having a hard time finding any decent info.Any members out there with one that can shed some light?I did manage to round up a correct air cleaner and exhaust manifolds already but not sure what other parts if any I should be looking for.

I would suggest you check out eBay for dealer brochures, bookstores or amazon.com for books that relate to & show original cars, and of course car shows (too late in the year for that, though) for info.

I bought a new 1974 Duster 360/727/8-1/4 rearend when I was 18 yrs old. It had parchment interior with bucket seats, power disc brakes, power steering, rallye wheels & E70-14 Goodyears. It was yellow exterior with black stripes and the Duster360 callouts (pot metal) were behind the front wheel wells. No 360 callouts on the rear quarter from 1974-1976. Stripes in 1974 were same as 1973 I believe. It had no options other than those I described. It was your basic 1974 Duster 360 with no frills and except for the 360 motor it's hard to tell the difference from a 1973 Duster 340.

1974 Dusters did the have engine compartment braces too like in the above pics and engine was Chrysler blue.

1970 FE5 Duster 360/904/3.91's SOLD 1973 TB3 SpaceDuster 340/4spd/4.10's SOLD Moparless for now but when the opportunity is right I'll have another one.

Back in 1975, my first car was a '74 Duster 318. It was black with black bucket seats & a console automatic with a half white vinyl top. It had front disc brakes, power steering, sure-grip with 323's and a white racing stripe. I missed that car from the moment I sold her sometime in the 80's. I actually searched out and found the current owner in the late 90's but he would not part with it.
The search was on for another car. I found a '74 360 4-speed numbers matching black Duster with buckets and white racing stripe. Although it was "drive-able", I decided to "clean" it up to make it more presentable and dependable. That has escalated into complete tear down and rotisserie type resto. I have accumulated many NOS parts [and I am still looking for more] as well as the dealer parts book & brochure. I also have a magazine test drive article on the 74 360 Duster & will look for it when I get home and get you the information.
If you have any specific questions, I will try to help you.

I looked through my old magazines & saw that it wasn't a test drive article, but a 3 part "hop-up" series on a '74 360 Duster. Car Craft Magazine in August, September & October 1974. [I have only the Sept. copy].

IIRC, that car was white and had a rallye mirror on one side and a remote round mirror on the other, if I'm not getting articles mixed up. Quality control?

What's wrong with a blue car with a blue motor?

I'm north of you in LaPorte. I have a mostly original 1974 Duster 360 4 speed 3.21. Hey if you wanna come up someday and check it out Pm me. I was at Martin and Stanton in 2007. Best Et at three different tracks is a 14.4 . You could buy my car and not have to build yours or build 2 I have the correct thermoquad and air cleaner, window sticker, brochure, build sheet and owners manual. I added a TTi exhaust, centerforce dual-friction clutch. Unoriginal stuff like hoses, cassette radio and speakers and battery cable ends and hose clamps are incorrect on my car.
