Those were both '75-'76. The lightweight items had to counter the weight of the normal 75-6 trans and hood, etc.; but they were also still burdened by the increased weight of the 5 mile per hour bumpers, heavier crash protection vs. the 71 cars, heavier exhaust systems, ie. catalytic converters in addition to mufflers, and even bigger brakes and wheels/tires. The were "light" for 1975-6 cars, but undoubtedly, still heavier than the '71 stuff.

The shipping weights are with certain mandatory equipment, yada, yada, yada...I wouldn't read too much into them. Bottom line is that they are close enough that the difference would be negligeable IMO. Dave
