I like that I can have that much fun, sometimes get paid and not feel dirty.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

LIKE'S-Being at the Track it separate's the Real-Racers from the key-broad racers!
Being the most popular guy at the track on Race-Day,being fellow Mopars racers you all know the reason for that Us Mopar Racers don't dare leave the shop headed to the track with out loading the shop into the trailer! But being a Loyal Mopar race I leave that part out. After all anyone with any common sense at all, would not go to the track with-out a jack and a few simple tools,or would they

DIS-Likes,people that build $100,000 cars and only race them 3-4 times a year, and then drop down in as lower class as they can find and race against $10,000 cars.

PS. My Motto is and has always been..."If You Want To Be The Man'You Have Got To Beat The Man"

Good topic and mixed ideas..........

LIKES, Since I`m an et chaser, I like the idea of trying different things and attempting to go quicker/faster w/the different changes each time out but as we know it definately doesn`t always work out that way.
I like hangin w/my friends and enjoying the atmosphere and smell of drag racing and the whole vibe that goes along w/it.
Could go on forever.........
DISLIKES; Not many dislikes since when I`m at the track I get into a zone and focus on my car not others unless I take a break to see what`s happening in the lanes. Too easy to come up w/negative ideas and I`d rather keep it positive........

I like NSS door cars and the FAST and Pure Stock muscle cars as I like being able to tell what kind of car it is going down the track. In other words the old Nostalgic cars that I can tell what they are. Ron

Eric,

No offence taken, I know you still have to tune and adjust settings and you still have to react to 'something' so the human factor still there. I just don't personally see or feel any excitement from watching it. I grew up watching Comp eliminator and modified production and remember that as being some of the most diverse and interesting racing ever. Ironically the Heads up .90 classes sprung from the desire to reduce fan confusion regarding understanding 'staggered tree' starts...

But I'm sure I'm not the only one who believes the .90 class racing really took many fans out of sportsman racing....but probably also increased concession stand business. I'm 100% sure it's exciting and challenging to participate in, and some of the best leavers and tuners in the business live and die by it....but I'm sorry, it's just no fun to watch

You could still take all the electronics and controls away (heads-up classes were not designed around them after all) and still race a heads-up class, but once Pandora's box was opened in the early 80's or so (and the Delay boxes/cross-overs and Throttle controls were all deemed legal) it pretty made the class a "conform or die" scenario for racers who wanted to go rounds. I remember it well because there were a lot of old schoolers who resisted it..

The topic is likes and dislikes, so I'm sure opinions will vary. Some people like chocolate, some people like vanilla

I did'nt say it was fun to watch ...but at the big end it is some of the closest racing on a drag strip. What cracks me up is that there are barely any tracks that have a T/S series...yet everone seems to say "oh it's so boring..thats when i go for a hot dog"...Someone want to tell me where all these races they are suffering through are held?...Id like to go
