A friend of mine is having Mike(a member here)and myself get his 68 Nova up and running after a 10 year hibernation and what used to be a winner of many street races back in the day including whoopin me, is now steppin up big time. He has the Shafiroff 434 short block and is ordering some AFR`s soon which will produce 12.1.1 comp. and has a .630 lift solid roller and manly rods and crank to handle no more than a 225 shot so, do you guys think the Magnafuel 300 pump can handle this or should he get the 500. Was also thinking about two Holley blacks one motor one nos deadheaded........... Need your help pleeze cos ths is not my area......... I will be plumbing the whole fuel system and wiring the car moving all electronics under the dash and will be installing c-tracs as well. So, watcha think?

Why not leave that pump on it and run a different pump for juice? I think those 300 pumps are rated for ~900+ hp.

Are you running a dedicated fuel cell for the juice unit?

If starting from scratch, I'd use one big pump

I'm one of those who would rather have way too much fuel system, than not enough. Personally I would buy the 500 and never worry again no matter what motor or power I was putting down.

You'll get someone to chime in telling you to go the cheapest route possible, to me, do it once, do it right, its not worth the risk.

We`re starting from scratch so anything goes at this point and he`s willing to spend to make it happen. One 12 gallon cell w/race gas all of the time.

I think the 300 would be more than enough for the motor and a 225 shot.

The 300 is way capable of what he's doing.500 is overkill for sure.

So would you guys use a 2-port or 4-port reg..........

never use the same regulator for your carb and nos.Nos pressure is definatly different then what u want for ur motor. For instance a 350 tune for spray can be around 5 1/2 lbs.

Like I said, not my area here.........so, a 2-port Magnafuel reg. for motor then the Holley he already has for the nos.

Me and Dom are the ones working on this car. Its a 1968 model not a 73. Anyways, here's a few pics of the stages its in right now.
We tried to talk our friend who owns this Nova to go with an all aluminum Indy 572 Hemi...but he was'nt going for it!!

Here's what we started with. Not too bad looking really, but he hates the orange color, so it will be DA sanded and primered.

More chevy pics than I've ever seen here. ..If you get a small fuel cell,mount it up front with a Holly blue pump/deadhead regulator you can spray it with e85, or even better....Methanol. Just jet accordingly.

I agree about the Chevy pics but if guys can put Chevys in Mopars, Fords in Chevys then why not after all, it`s muscle and we get to spend his money and do as we pleeezzzeee........... . The E-85 thing doesn`t work for us around here cos there aren`t any stations close enuff............ This car SHOULD be a 9-second beast when we`re done.........

A friend of mine and myself rolled into Bobs Big Boy for a car show and this girl said "Hey, nice Novas".........He has a 68-69 Dart.........too funny but they are nice cars.

Put the 500 pump on it now just in case you want to try E85 later, alcholol or more power

He`s considering either but at this poing we`re focusing on the chassis being ready for the 600+ n/a beast that`s goin in.

Lose the traction bars .....at least go calvert(sp) and have fun!

It`s getting Cal-tracs and a spool w/35 spline axles.........
