FYI i went through 3 of those powermaster alternators as one was bad out the box, and two worked sporadically. I just got a HD stock alternator at NAPA and it does fine. It powers all my cars electrical needs including my audio system's subwoofer and amp.

Crazy...the powermaster on my 71 has been good since 2005 and is the one I tested with. I was afraid of the parts store so I ordered another powermaster from Summit with free shipping. It the new one(second one) charges great so far, even at a idle. I think it is a hi output model?
I have 2 other used units sitting around my garage but was afraid of trusting them. Especially when I'm out of town with the car.

Taking it to the north rim of the grand canyon next week so I have been driving my car quite a bit to be sure it's ready.

I probably could have got parts store alt and been OK. I'm hoping the powermaster put's out more?

This was on the powermaster alternator. I was hoping to get more out of it than a part store part? Don't know if that's true or not? Anyone know?

I do know it doing better than any alternator I have ever used on a old mopar so far. I've driven it quite a bit the last few days.

I have success. I took alternator from my 72 barracuda. it has a square back if that means anything. the one from my road runner that I just got had the round back. I don't know what my original one had since I didn't pay attention.either way my road runner is now charging even with load on it.thanks for all the tips
