Looks good.

What kind of car is that?

Ok, now I see, it's an AAR.

I like the Minilite-style wheels better.

What size were they, and are they offered for sale?

On a slightly related note, I just happened today to weigh a new set of 18x10 TT/mustang wheels with new 295-35/18, and they weigh IO a porky 55lbs, ouch.

This was posted before the confusion about which were the "new" wheels was determined, and to be clear now, the Mini's rock, and I have no interest in the old wheels.

Both pics of the car look really coolllll! Did you move the rear springs inboard or is it still stock? What brand/model of tires are now on the minilites? (What were on the previous rims.... they looked cool, too!). Is the car repainted?

Is that an Edelbrock proflow XT intake manifold ?

(I run one on my Torana's LS1 )

Thanks! I spent a ton of time to get the offsets right. nothing rubs anywhere. I probably could have gone with a wider rear wheel and tire now that I look at it. I won't go into the issues in getting them made but I think it was worth it. I like the minilite replicas, they fit the theme of the car better than my old wheels that I am going to sell.

the old wheels are 17x8 F and 17x9.5 R with 245/45R17 F and 305/45R17 R.

The car is a gran coupe that i made into my interpretation of an AAR. The stripes are painted on.

The new tires are nitto invo's. The car has offset hangers for the rear springs to move them in "an inch" which really measures about 3/4".

The 440 does have a edelbrock XT intake on it. I didn't see anyone running one at spring fling. Got a lot of attention from that and the distributorless ignition that I am running.

Looks awesome.

What a surprise, I like them!

Do you have a picture of the front from the same angle view as the above picture? I plan on 17x9 with 5.25" to 5.5" backspace. I'm worried the centers look too pushed out and not deep enough. They would have a 1/2" to 3/4" smaller front side than your front rims.

IMHO, the look of the thin cast ring around the center on the 2 peice rims doesn't give the rim as deep look as a full cast rim. The full cast rims run the casting/color further out more toward the edge of the lip giving it a deeper look.

I have had a lot of comments on mine too, you just don't seem to see people run them very much in general? (maybe because of thier height? )

Looks good. I hope those wheels were designed with adequate caliper clearance for big brakes, however.

Many vintage appearing 17+" wheels will not fit big brakes because the design was compromised for "the look". In addition, they tend to be very heavy.

I sent in the caliper templates with the wheel specs so they could clearance them the wheel company was very specific about that kind of stuff. overall the weight is pretty comparable to the 17's I took off

the only problem I had with clearance was the flange for the throttle body itself. I had to cut part of the flange off and cut out part of the hood scoop to clear it...which sucked to cut the hood after it was already painted.

My car has scoop (cowl style, factory one) so was no big deal for me to cut the hood....shame you had to trim your's after it was already painted.
