if it has a diaphragm PP yes I would remove it
With the B&B the overcenter spring is pretty much optional. Mcleod recommeded removing it, but I have run it both ways. More effort, but also more feel with it on, less effort without it on. I finally settled on running without and once I got used to it, I would not go back. Be sure you have the fork return spring on, no matter how you go.
