Something as simple as this works too.

IIRC, this is a garage door seal

I heard the old DC spoilers for Dusters actually slowed them at the track.

Ask 340SIX, it has a rear spoiler that faces up....

I wasn't talking rear I meant to say the front one.

Yes, a rear spoiler will slow down a drag car.

My Aspen has run the strip both with and without the factory R/T spoiler. The rear spoiler created enough drag to cost me 2/10 of a second in the quarter @ 110 mph. It also creates enough down force that the lip of the fender just starts to glaze the corner of the tire where it never did before.

Thanks for the link AutoXcuda, also sorry to read that your web page is gone.
I hope you are able to salvage it.
I am going to email the Cuda spoiler guy and see if he has any made up for the Challenger.

There are four forces that affect an airfoil.

thrust, drag, lift, gravity.

"Thrust"? Explain

If you look at Tom Quad's AAR at watkins glen I think he has a ABS plastic front spoiler. Those are much more durable than fiberglass. They will bend and then bend back. I have seen 67/69 Camaro spoilers adapted easy to various Mopars. Maybe even a 69/70 Mustang one?

Tom Quad where did that spoiler come from?

That is a mighty fine lookin chin spoiler on there.

How about the AAR-T/A rear ducktail spoilers? Those seem to have much use at 'normal' speeds?

I think the basic coupe outline with notchback rear with flat trunk of a E-body is very similar to the 69 Camaro they tested in the 69 Car Life spoiler article. And the Camaro ducktail spoiler is very similar to the AAR/TA. So if it worked on the Camaro I think it will work on the E-bodies.

In the article they got about 50 lbs of force at 70 mph,IIRC. Things just were starting to happen then

These four forces are more related to aviation/aeronautics. Think of thrust as "horsepower", I guess. The amount of force it takes to propel an object.

Gravity
Thrust + Drag
Lift

Drag tries to counter thrust
Gravity tries to counter lift

When thrust and lift overcomes the drag and gravity, you have propulsion

I found this link, maybe you could make one of these work. The price is sure right.

That link also has a nice page discussing aerodynamic principles.
