Didn't you go from a 6.17 to a 4.10? Thats a huge difference in tire speed if all else is the same.
that is a big change but if he was running a 33" tire and dropped to a 28" thats 103.6 down to 89 so thats part of the difference IF he does change sizes... which I dont know

Leon, we ran into a similar situation w/ the Camaro (436" SBC w/ a glide) I drive for a friend. Had a vibration at about 1/2 track that'd go away on the gear change. Car otherwise ran great, no vibration in the burnout that I could feel though. Turned out to be the front pinion bearing going bad. Changed it and the vibration went away.

Not sure if I understood the question right, but if its on the burn-out with the Pro-Mods running they might have prep the starting line & track a little better than it was 2 weeks ago.If it is doing it at the end of 1st gear going down the track I would think it was in the drive train, not the tires.A Hi-Horse-Power light weight car can spin the tires & cause a shake, but most times they do it at the torque peak.
PS just for the hell of it jack the rear end up,get you a coffee can tape a piece of soap stone on the top of it and set it close to your rear tires and see if one of your tires has got out of round.

My Olds will shake the tires in the burn out if I don't have enough RPM,i'm referring to doing across the line burnout. If I do my burnout at 6k it will shake the fillings out of my teeth. Not sure if your stationary in the burnout Leon or going across the starting line. I try to keep the RPM around 6500 in the burnout. The car has a 632, glide and 4.10s with a 33 X 16 tire.

It was happening both ways.
I always start the burnout stationary. When I am in my groove I get the tires rolling then pump the line lock botton so the car can pull out on its own without overrevving.
Once I got in the groove I just ignored the shaking which was reduced because I set the chip at 7,500 to try and elliminate the shake.
Maybe the tires were hot enough and I should have been just pulling ahead.

Not sure same issue as mine, mine starts the shake because the tires are trying to hook (what if feels like anyway)I lift when it starts doing it. I did have an issue last year, the first time out (prior seasons tires on still) the car shook badly in the burnout and all the way down. I took the tires to the tire shop and they rebalanced them. Shake (vibration) was gone after that. I always leave the car up on the jacks so it surprised me the tires changed over the winter As far as balancing, i've never been lucky enough to not have to balance them, have always vibrated when I didn't.

Ran the car today with the 6,17 gear; Very little shake. But, noticed a small vibration momentary in the run.

I would think shocks being worn would be the culprit if the car runs clean down the track. A loose of worn heim maybe.
