Hello all
I have a 71 Dart GT, how do I tell if the engine is numbers matching? Engine number matches fender tag?
Car needs lots of help, are these worth restoring?

If it's a SB, **incorrect info deleted*. I have no idea where S6 #s are.
It's probably not a big-$ car; if you check around - the A-body classifieds here, for example - you should be able to find a car to compare it to. I'd say that condition is pretty much everything as far as value.

Hmmm....no 1971 Dodge Dart GT model was produced. Provide your VIN # and the model can be determined.

Joe,better check again,this one came out of Canada in 1981.GT badges on quarter panel,318 bucket seat console auto.

Bill - I stand corrected. My apologies also to the OP. I am not an A body expert by any stretch...from what I can tell the Dart GT was last offered as an A body model "LP" VIN in 1969. However, it appears they did offer a GT option package A65 on Darts in 70 & 71? I learned something new today....how about that. 
Joe,the 71's are extremely rare,the one pictured belongs to a friend in eastern PA,he finished it about 4yrs ago,supposedly the number of 71's is around 50,all Canadian built and most if not all were sold in Canada. 
And no need to apologies,I'm older than you and age has it's benefits!

I will check the VIN and engine/tranny (318/904) Friday, when I am home during daylight hours. Hopefully it is really a 71, not just a 71 grill.
It has DartGT emblems below the doors, black center grill, bucket seats, auto console shift, Cuda type wood rim steering wheel, 8 3/4, front disc brakes.
