I just dont get this idea.
Unless... there is a valve right where the pipe splits into full system/cutout (read: to route the FULL exhaust volume to either the cutout OR the mufflers), is the exhaust not just flowing into both pipes even if its uncorked? Whats the point besides just making more noise? On a personal note, I think they sound terrible, unless you wanna sound like a rez-pickup truck. And they have to be hurting power on any GOOD system.
I dread the thought of uncapping these,it's so loud now it is uncomfortable to drive and with the TTI system,no headers and the quietest 3" muffler available,I have to live with it.As you age, quiet is better!!

I don't have a very good system, and uncapping adds 3-4 tenths to my ET at the track, good for when I'm trying for a personal best. I leave it capped up for bracket racing.

My guess is that the valve idea isn't needed because, at full throttle, most of the exhaust is going to take the path of least resistance and flow out of the first big available hole it sees - the cutouts. The sound is exactly the same as open headers on my car, so if the sound of open headers sounds terrible to you, then they sound terrible but I like it. I have a 2.5" mandrel-bent system, I don't know if it's good or not, all I know is my cutouts were an inexpensive and easy mod, are worth a few tenths in the 1/8, only take a few minutes to take off, and sound good uncorked at the track, so what's not to get?

My run a 3" mandrel system back to the cutouts (elec or vac) then T into a 2&1/2" system/restricted muffs rearward from there. Quiet in normal driving & the power is available when you pull the trigger
live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth
