So you think I can run 11:1 on 93 octain and just retard the timing a bit? I am very worried about detonating. I took the car out this afternoon and had only 93 in the car.
I sounded and ran great! Very limited trip down the street and back.
I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. .
But I am running open headers.

Well I am going to buy a set of carbs for the E85.
I went to the local car qeust and bought 5 gallons of 108 octain VR110 fuel and did a 50/50 mix with 93 octain from the local Mobile station.
to the tune of 60.00
I had to advance the timing to 37 degrees full advance and adjust the idle.
This thing with open headers on the street is an absolute Beast!!
Just tapping the gas lightly at a stop light produces instant wheel spin. Standing on the gas Produces a sound and feeling that makes me really respect the fellows that designed this awesome work of mechanical art.
I have ran Mopars almost all of my adult life but this is my first 426 Hemi. Ive ran a lot of fast 440 cars and will not argue the validity of their dominance on the street and track, but man what a motor!
I can tell Im going to drive this monster every chance I get this summer. So if I can get the same performance from E85 and save many dollars per gallon it's a no Brain-er!!!!!
just in case though, I.ll be keeping the stock cabs!

You may want to do a Google search for local stations that carry 100 octane unleaded. My aluminium headed 493 is just under 13 to 1. I run it on the street with 22 initial and 34 total all in at 1500 rpm. I tried mixing leaded race gas with the premium pump swill they sell here in cCalifornia, but it's a bit of a pain.

This motor LOVES the generic 100 octane unleaded they sell at a local station for $7.25 a gallon 24-7 & 365. It smells so good raw or burned, it runs super clean and makes lots of power. There's another nearby station that sells the Street Blaze brand 100 octane unleaded, but it costs about a dollar a gallon more.

By the way, pump premium is about $4.50 a gallon here anyway.
