Got to meet BradH, 440Jim, and lowbudget, which was really cool. I had a dumb moment 3rd round- forgot to bring the sprayer to the lanes to cool the car off...couldn't cool it off enough and pulled into the water at 175ish degrees, and the car hesitated (surprise, surprise) and ended my day. Hopefully I'll never do that again lol.

And yes that is 440Jim's car.

Did the 'Flying Wedge" make a pass? I was rollingout but catching some last fast 16 races on the entrance side of the track but could only see the big end. Sounded like he may have shut down after a burnout due to a leak. What's that thing run?

I found Franky from VA there selling parts and scored 2 nice and complete 66 Belvedere jack assemblies with cardboard spare covers. Thanks, Frank.

Good to see Raymond's W5 Tc3 goning straight down the track these days.

Check my picture thread from the show below. I believe the flying wedge was running 8 teens. Chris.

I had lots of fun!
4 time trials (2 during open session), wheel stand contest, and went 4 rounds in Modified before Tom (Seibert?) knocked me out with his 0.001 RT and ran dead on his number plus change.

The first two passes before noon the air was cool and I ran two identical 9.264 runs, then a bunch of 9.32s the rest of the day. Here is the best (race fuel with the big Dominator carb).

1.266, 5.852@116.07, 9.264@142.87 (63º, 37%, 30.24"Hg, +70 DA)

The MIR website should have some wheel stand contest pictures up within a week (hopefully).

As I told everyone at the event, I ended up taking the Challenger, instead of the Road Runner, after all because of an unexpected mechanical issue w/ the RR on Sunday morning.

Mike Hynes and I showed up a little late, but the Challenger still pulled 10.58, 10.56, and 10.57 time runs. My last two R/Ts were even decent and I was hoping to stay for the race, but I had to make sure I could get home before dark because of the Challenger's yet-to-be-resolved electrical issues. So, about 3:45 after having already put my dial-in on the car in anticipation of the first round, I had to make the decision to leave then, rather than keep waiting around for my class to be called up.

At least I made it this year w/ the MoPig and it ran right where it left off from the last test-n-tune session. The turnout was better than I've seen in previous years and the weather was definitely nicer than typical for November 1 around here.

Anybody get a picture of a '73 B5 w/ black top & T/A hood Challenger coming off the line w/ both wheels catching air?

I had a blast! I think this is the first time in about 4 years this show was on its original date and had good weather also!
I really had a great time seeing all the MOPARTS members for that last show of the season (for me) and I met a few new ones. I didn't have any luck racing the Arrow this year. I ran the Mod. and Street class and lost first round in both. My car was bumping back and forth .04 all day which it really didn't matter with my lights.
Hats off to Royce Miller for making MIR one of the best tracks on the East Coast! The new bathrooms and concession stand is awsome.

Oh yeah and Tom Sneden (of Bob Banning Dodge fame) made is first passes since '74. He wouldn't put his name on the car until he won a round, so it didn't go on until after first round. Jim, you got Tommy's last name right. And that run that he put together doesn't surprise me.
