Anyone know if any machine work needs to be done to Indy 360-2 heads for T&D rockers to work...Do the T&D rockers have smaller shafts...any details would be great....I'm somewhere around 220psi closed/ high 400's open on a smith machine lifters/solid flat tappet...want to put some street miles on the motor and may worry to much with the Indy rockers.....What do yall think???

The rockers I saw on Indy sb heads used smaller single shaft with larger diameter collars where they meet the pedestals on the heads

If you are going to use this style T@D set up you need to have the pedistials milled off, it is a very nice setup I wish my BB had this setup also.

The T&D 8120 rockers for the indy heads seem to be single shaft....maybe they use some form of mounting bushing to run a smaller diameter shaft so they can have a bearing in the rockers....anyone know...if not I'll give them a ring in the morning.

The single shaft ones do have a smaller diameter shaft
but have a bushing over the shaft where they mount
to the head

These rockers need no mods and bolt up in 5 min. I have a new set and a new set of heads. I will bolt one up and take some pics.

I ran the exact setup on my old motor, about 200 street miles and 20 passes no problems. Were like new when I took it apart. Springs were bigger than yours. Cam was .672 lift 260/266 at .050.

so they seem to offer a couple styles....standard single shaft or mini shafts on a steel machined plate...the 2nd way definetly seems like quite a bit of work.........so B1, what form of bushing/bearing are on the single shaft units?..do they oil through the head?

SB449 I think my rockers are different than yours. I got these from Bill Richardson at RAM racing and I was told that these are made specifically for Indy 360 heads.

The set I have oil through the head, but I was told you could order pushrod oiling no change in price or fitment. They come completely assembled, like Ersons, I have never taken one off the shaft. I am not sure if they are bushed or have roller bearings.

Order directly form T&D. I don't know of any one that is a DEALER that could give you a discount. Their Customer Service and Knowledge is top notch. I have dealt with them twice and will always go to them for rockers.

Make sure you ask them about what options are available for the rockers you looking at. They have options that aren't listed anywhere. Like shot-peening, roller-tip oiling through the arm, and few others. Usually at Minimal or NO charge.

I did take one off the shaft. It has a Timkin like bearing on both outside surfaces of the rocker and a bushing in the center. Sorry I put the camera away. If you need a pic of the inside of the rocker I will take one tomorrow.

Yeah.. as said/shown they offer the 2 types of rocker
set up.... single shaft for stock oiling.. and the
multi small shafts but this must use push rod oiling..
I have both set ups on different SB that I have

It 400lbs over the nose on spring pressure I would not worry about the Indy rockers breaking. I had no trouble with 1.5 or 1.6 rockers with 500+. Now 600+ I Broke a 1.6 rocker and changed to the T&Ds, mine oil thru the shafts and dropped on with no mods to the head.

Did you have problems with the INDY rockers not holding there lash?
I ran mine on the dyno for about eleven runs and each one I had to re adjust the lash. Drove me nuts. Flat mechanical with schubeck lifters.Matt

I ran mine with a Crane solid roller and Crane super pro lifters,Smith Bros 3/8 pushrods, checked lash all the time because I am anal with that stuff. Never had one go out of adjustment.

I've tried to set it. Wonder if I was doing something wrong or bad adjusters?
