I went to the Indy Swap Meet over the weekend with 2 of the crew and we split up and did our own shopping. On the way back home we were talking and I brought up the conversations that I had had with not one but 3 of the local Indy area Mopar people, at 3 different times. Seems there is a rumor around Indy that National Trail Raceway has lost it's NHRA sanction. The other 2 guys in the truck had heard the same thing, and we all had a good laugh. NHRA "owns" National Trail Raceway. I metioned this rumor to the new track manager , and he got a good laugh also. By the way, the new track manager has been there for ever and he is heavy into Mopars. I will see you guys at "The Spring Nostalgia Nationals", on June 22-23, 2013 at National Trail Raceway. This race is for all 1977 and older cars.

Nuther funny one.. Nobody that works for Mopar, at any capacity, can profit off of Mopar. "people" overheard someone saying Belinda worked for Chrysler. I think he's at Ford. I actually don't like rumors.

No he didn't.. Your thinking of Jeff. He isn't a permanent fixture at the track anymore... And for the Belinda comment, anyone else see the mopar nats is now the Chrysler nats.. And Larry hope to make your event this year.

Trails is just fine. They make money the same as most other tracks in the Midwest....not much. But i doubt in recent years many tracks have been funneling money in by the truck-loads. Rumors are just that. Rumors. No better than gossiping about your neighbors......just makes you look like a loud mouth.

We will keep supporting it like we always have. Sure doesn't benefit anyone to have a racetrack of it's size and history shut down....

I guess I spoke out of turn for saying I had heard that. I don't know it no one leaked it to me. It was just something overheard.

I don't wish any ill will on a track. What good does that do for the sport

Soon the N H R A will be out of the ownership of any track,
Drag racing is seeing a slow death, in some cases faster in some areas than others,
Bigger tracks leaving out the regular local racers for the attraction of large events to attract spectators.
High prices, slow sponsorships, little spectators, fewer racers.
Insurance, taxes, maintance cost,
All the recipes.

Well NHRA is putting money in to NTR right now.. they are putting down some new concrete to fix some of the bad spots. there will be a new 80 foot patch about 330 to 410 feet.

how come the mopar collectors guide race points deal isnt going to be at national trails anymore?

isnt there still a mopar event there in the spring that they could have it at?

tell mother nature not to rain and we wont have a problem and a lot of tracks including norwalk have this problem
