Yeah NASCAR has got a kagillion dollars of sponsorship money tied up in those cars, and those sponsors buy advertising on the TV. Plus+ the news media does not really like drag racers, every high speed accident starts the news with drag racers. You never hear NASCAR type street racers tonight killed a family of whatever. I have written letters and even talked with a couple local news people about calling street racing drag racing. For the most part they quit saying it around here (I'm sure not just because of me) and call it for what it is, illegal street racing.
