I would love to hear from anyone who was very satisfied with their aftermarket carpet installation. Back in 2005, I ordered my carpet from YO. Maybe my mistake was I didn't buy the material to go under the carpet. The sound deadning material. Instead I used regular carpet backing material like you find in your home. My biggest complaint with the YO carpet was it wasn't wide enough side to side. Every time I step down a little rough, the carpet pulls away from the sill plates. Plus YO's carpet was suppose to be pre-molded to fit. The front section was pure heck to fit. It was a miserable project to fit. It didn't fit good. It didn't look good. The back section was much easier than the front. Please share your stories!!!!!

last fall i ordered some carpet for my 65 coronet from Stock Interiors. it ended up being ACC carpet. the car had some ACC carpet in it from 2003 and wasn't nothing to brag about. the 2012 carpet had the rubber backing, was heavier, seemed a little better quality, but didn't have much padding. luckily i ordered extra padding and it sure needed it. fit was so so, typical of aftermarket stuff.

I've tried the other mfg's over the decades, and I always end up buying from ACC, I only do the 80/20 "grandma loop" factory style carpets when the customer specifies "original", otherwise I order a replacement ACC carpet in high cut pile, custom made/ordered, has a much plusher feel/finish than the "granny rug"....if factory stock is your desire, again ACC carpets, or Dave Walden @ ECS Automotive for his ship flat carpets, FYI, ACC is the ECS supplier.....

Got mine through Legendary while I was ordering some other stuff. Carpet came in a Trim Parts box. Certainly didn't come up short anywhere. No complaints.

Some of my friends cars were used in the making of their die-stamps that their carpets are stamped on.
Maybe you got a defect? Their stuff really is top-notch!Their facilities are right here in Ohio, and American workers!

Same here for my GTX,fit was horrible over the front portion of the tunnel.I've had better luck with the ACC stuff in the past.

I've bought 2 Trimparts carpet sets within the last 5 yrs, customers specified Trimparts, I wasn't impressed enough with the fit, mat'l quality was fine, but fit left a lot to be desired, it took a lot of additional padding to build up the transmission tunnel, so the "lay" of the carpet was presentable,....door sill coverage (or lack of it) was the other issue on the 2nd carpet purchased. there was nothing to trim off, and barely enough to grip under the sills, I was forced to really stretch the carpet to fit,

I've used Trimparts many years ago, same issues...so I've seen no improvement in their product IMHO

I ordered ACC for my Cuda a few years ago. It sat in a box for about 18 months before I used it. Too long, I could'nt return it. When I installed it, the hole for the shifter looked like they cut it with a chain saw. The shifter hole was cut about 4 inches too big. There was a jagged 2 inch gap on either side of the console. It was also about 4 inches too short where it went up the front under the dash. The carpet was black when I got it. After about a year it was sort of a grey color. I ordered new carpet from Summit Racing. It fit perfect and the color is still good, going on two years. I don't know who is the vendor for Summit, but it seems the quality is superior to anything I've seen from ACC.

I just finished a Customer specified Trimparts carpet that fit like crap after creatively gluing sections of jute into the roll of the trans tunnel so that you could push on a spot there & not pull it out of shape Form & fit was a joke the rear section was worse than the front & this was in a 72 El Camino Now you'd think these folks would have a A Body GM down pat by now

My Bro & I have been a ACC dealer for 20 years or more & I have to say that their color quality in the last 5 years or more has went down since we first started buying from them The durability & fit is there so now we wait till it fades & redye it then the color lasts Black fades faster than any other color. I have them make custom floor mats & the color lasts longer in them

Just put a trimparts carpet in and have no complaints. It is not a perfect install because I made a mistake in trimming it, but no complaint with the product.

With a little creative patching, my screw up is un-noticable.

Same thing- Over the tunnel fit like ass, the heel was attached crooked and it was short front and sides! I hate looking at the thing in the car and planned on throwing it out in the spring for ACC

I just installed Trim Parts carpet in my 69 RR last summer and it fits pretty good. There was plenty of material on all sides. I had to trim around 4 or so inches off of the fire wall section and around an inch on each side to make it fit right. I will agree with everyone else though; the transmission tunnel section of the carpet does not fit the best. I have a wrinkle in mine that I hope will relax over time.

in the process of installing carpet from Trim Parts in my 69 road runner. it fits about as well as a saddle on a cow.the fit around the tunnel is so bad i'm about ready to throw it in the dumpster and buy another brand.

Darn talk about hitting the nail on the head & driving it all the way
"Like a saddle on a cow" A perfectly correct statement

I've got ACC carpet in my GTS. Installed it in 1989. While faded, it fit well when installed and is otherwise in good shape today. There's probably 40,000 miles or so on the car in that time. I cleaned the car out the other day I believe that the carpet could be dyed and get another 24 years out of it...

I just noticed you have 318 posts

The carpet fit may depend on the year/model, and if it is Auto or 4-speed?
I have ACC carpets in the '71 Charger (with the stock under layment) and they fit fine (on the other hand, they were purchased around 1990?)
The ACC carpet in the '69 Coronet 4-speed has the issues you mentioned being too narrow at the kick panels. I have another ACC carpet for my other '69 Coronet (auto trans), but it is still in the box, so i should test fit it just to see of the issue is the 4-speed trans hump?

If ECS is making carpet for your car, I would get them.
