I see comp cams has cut to length pr 8.5" to 9.800" w/press in cup so that is 1 option.

Its been awhile since I checked but isn't standard size something like 9.750 cup ball for a 440. If so a good used set should be cheap and real easy to find. If that's close let me know. I have several sets.

1970 Duster
Edelbrock headed 408
5.984@112.52
422 Indy headed small block
5.982@112.56 mph

The lifter you use makes a difference,I am using a comp roller 829 with a seat height of 1.79 and with that I measured the with the checking pr and got the 9.422 measurement and measuring my old pr side by side the new is .500 taller +/-.The simple answer is no that is not the correct length.

Now that the weather is getting better I can think about putting on the heads and get away from making headers for now.
