I am attempting to check for the correct rocker offset on my Edelbrock Victors with std port size with a std .250 offset rocker and std pushrod length ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif) I know!To do this I braught the cam to full lift [intake]to lengthen the pushrod enough to ingage with the rocker adj ball/pushrod cup and slide them over to contact the pushrod with the head and measure the gap from the rocker side to the rocker shaft perch, bolt and the result was a .500 gap on the side of the rocker.I would need a .800 offset rocker [indy head offset] so wrather than machine the head to clear the pushrod should I get the larger offset and did I check it correctly?Ideas? Thank you for you help!

On the last set of Victors I did, it appeared that Edelbrock has attempted to make clearance for a 1.5 ratio, .650" offset rocker and a centered lifter. I was using .650"/1.6 rockers, 3/8 pushrods and offset lifters and had to do some clearancing on BOTH the intake and exhaust. It appeard to me that if I used the Max Wedge offset of .725" that there would need to be even more clearance grinding.
Thanks for the reply!I dont understand with the MW offset how you would need more clearancing if the pushrod is more centered in the hole. I am using centered solid roller lifters. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif)

I suppose that Edelbrock may put the pushrod hole in a different place when they machine the Max Wedge Victor, I personally do not know, as I've only used the standard Victors and ported them out to Max Wedge.
I don't have the maxwedge victors.#77929

Interesting thread! I am really thinking these heads are a bigger pita than they are worth.
The pushrod ,rocker are the only thing I have had to do anything with.

Naw, I very much like them, and anyone I do a set for, I just automatically make sure they have pushrod clearance for their rocker ratio, pushrod diameter and lifter offset. It's not a big deal.

How bad would it be to just go with the more offset on the rocker and maybe a thicker pushrod if it needed it for that reason? edit:don't get me wrong I will get the head done to clear the pushrod/offset but if HS makes a offset for Indy .800 how much worse is it?I won't rev the engine past 7k 650# open psi spring. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/coffeetime.gif)

you don't have to, but adviseable if you have rollers.
