The 8 track option (sales code [420, $196.25] fender tag code R-0) would be listed as an option on the window sticker but the rear seat speaker would only be on the build sheet as the speaker is part of the R-0 package,

The 8-track included two speakers in the dash. The rear speaker was a separate option.

i bought a '68 road runner in april '68. if i remember correctly the decor option did show on the window sticker. i also thought that the decor option became standard in '69. i remember some of this because when i ordered my car i didn't want any "decor options" and the salesman hounded me in to it.

I'm pretty sure it was not standard on the '69 coupe/post or RM21 but standard on the hardtop/RM23

I specifically remember a couple of base '69 Coupes with the non-Decor (Belvedere) interior as new cars and a couple years old. I also remember a red '69 HT in the Burbank, CA area that had the base seat covers, which I thought really odd at the time, but that was in the '80s and they could have been recovered. I've never seen another HT like that. It was a low-option car and appeared very original, but it was not uncommon after 5-10 years for the seat covers to need replacing. I don't recall the fender tag, so I can't say it was born that way.

that $81.50 really rings a bell! there was an axle/big radiator/big u-joint package too, i think somewhere around $80.

Friend has an A12 RM21 car. It has the fender mount turn signals. Is that the light package? What all comes with that if so. It has the black steering wheel with the lower half of the steering wheel horn ring. It doesn't have the chrome post trim. Would that have the decor package? Not sure about ash trays in the rear.

Now I think I know why the A87 decor package was mandatory on the A12 coupes after the first few were built....I think that was the only way to get the bright/chrome exhaust tips on the coupes.

Were the chrome tips available in '69 by themselves without the A87 package?

and it '68 the chrome tips were only available with the Hemi and not the 383 rr regardless of the decor option. My '68 road runner hardtop had the decor package with the trunk finish panel and without exhaust tips. I wanted to put them on because the exhaust sounded so much better with them....................oh and exhaust tips regardless of engine were not (supposed) to be on a California ordered car because of a State noise regulation.....but who ever really cared, pretty sure LOTS of owners and dealers put them on

Agree with A12. And adding the tips was indeed a popular thing, did it myself on a few of my 68 & 69 California Roadrunners. They did step up the exhaust sound. I owned an original California '68 Charger R/T 440 car that had them on it. Could have been added Day 2, but sure looked factory from the welds & hangers.
