yes sir, iron. it's about 15-20# heavier than an r3 block. whitedart, it has a 360 rear cap. kent is sending me a spacer for my charlies pan which has a 340 arch.

what I can tell you is my old xr1 did not need any holes drilled.the new block is at the shop hopefully I can pick it up and take a look what holes are we talking about.

thats awesome. if you wanted, could that block be modified for oiling through the heads to use LA heads? amazingly nice block, but i do like LA heads and shaft mounted rockers.

Hey Greg, it's is 360 main cap. takes a special seal. never saw one like this. made by signal seals & fastners.

rocker oiling.... it would be a long way to drill.. maybe buy a very good shop ..but out side oil lines would work fine

Sure is a lot of core shift of misplaced lugs for the lifter side extra head studs. The outside edge lines up great. The inside if pretty far off.

That rear seal is the rear main and is way superior to the stock style. The 360 rear pan seal is better to. smaller lighter cap.

Career best 8.02 @ 169 at 3050# and 10" tires small block power.

I heard the cam tunnels were a problem too.I was just going to buy one for my new build until i heard there was still lots of problems that haven't been corrected.

3120lb, small block, 10.5" tire, NA, through exhaust, full int, WITH 83/4 REAR, 9.0 at 150mph

I had several of those spacers to put 340 pans on 360 caps. Nothing specail. It is cast aluminum and you silicone it into the groove in the cap where the seal usually would go. Very easy to make with 3/8 aluminum plate.

that is correct. kent told me u can use, edy's, brodix & mopar heads. i had to drill some water passages in the deck for my w9's. kent told me hasn't heard of anyone trying w9's on his block i'll try to post pics of what i had to drill tomorrow.

all s/b guts need to thank kent ritter because without him we woud only have ma mopar, & that means NOTHING no parts, kents realy trying to built a quilty parts for us at a reasimble price,thanks kent

That could be true but, I thought the Xr1 and XR2 where different castings. They may be the same casting and just machined differently depending on what heads you plan to run. That would make sense.

im not 100% on this. but xr2 has more cam bearings with a staggered lifer like 47 intake 59 ex .
