Mopar Mitch, I intend to make the car just for me. Mostly a toy to make me happy. Not looking to fit into a class. I guess my two biggest concerns are looks and brake size. I am a big believer in stellar brakes and superb shock control. BUT i'm just not sure about the look of the skinny sidewall setups. Over the last 2 years I have had a change of heart about the rim diameter and have been liking the larger sizes more and more. You have already convinced me to go with more t-bar. I pay attention to what you have been preaching on here. Thanks!
Cass, You have already given me a quote based on some info I provided and one of my limitations was a 17" wheel. Have been looking for info on the Viper caliper and Charger rotor package you have put together. Not sure though if it's hit the shelves yet? Thing is now i'm considering removing the 17" limitation and getting a 14" rotor package from you when I order the diff and brakes from you, You will be getting my business!
I'd love to be able to stuff a 335 tire in their. Just trying to figure it all out including looks. Car is going to shop at end of January for a bunch of welding to the unibody and installation of sub frames, torque boxes, fender stiffeners, lower radiator brace, K frame mods, etc. Fender lips already have been rolled. If i need to it will be getting mini tubs as well. Just not sure if I need them for a 335 when I get the right BS, diff length and spring relocation setup. I appreciate everyones thoughts and knowledge.

It has a 3 or 4 link rear suspension so no leafs. Rear 295/45/18 front 245/45/18
I saw it at Carlilse 2 or 3 years ago. It was a nicely done car.

I highly recommend 18s for a couple reasons. Tire selection is pretty common these days in 18s, 275/35,285/30,295/30,35,40, 335/30 were very common sizes on Z06,ZR1 and Vipers. The trend now is turning toward a 19" rear wheel on the Supercars with the new Viper using a fricken 355/30/19 rear! Another reason I chose an 18 is tierod clearance so I can run a 9" wide on the front with 6" bs and not hit the tierod. That is a huge factor to me and doesnt require so damn much critical wheel selection on an A body.
Mopar to the bone!!!

any idea who makes the 18" wheels on the white challenger? year one has the rally wheels in aluminum but only list 17", i know foose makes them in 17-20" but they are way to rich for my blood.

IMO for big wheel to look good you need 3 items. 1. Wheels with dish. High positive offset wheel looks out of place on old cars. 2 Tires with sidewall. At least a 45 series. 3. Car lowered as much as possible.
For 18s I would go with 295/45 rear and 255/45 front.
Maxxis Marauader is a newer tire on the market currently. Their distribution network is predominately motorcycle shops, so you'll need to search to find them. Sizes are available in 14-18 in rim sizes with widths from 205 to 295. This is the only other widely available H speed rated tire out there next to the MT SR. For guys wanting a taller sidewall with 17-18 inch rims, they have plenty of offerings in 55-70 aspect ratios.

17 and 18 sizes listed below:

They tend to be on the heavy side too
Depends on the wheel...
My 18" x 10" rears are under 19 pounds each. I wouldn't call that heavy at least. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif)
