I would do just what I do with my 63.................drive it every chance I get and enjoy the heck out of it. Yea if I wanted to go a bit faster then I would drop the 493 in it. Ron

Put a pump gas engine in it and drive it to work!

The majority agree with my thoughts; don't cut it up or do anything reversible. If you really want to know what to do, start writing about your "favorite Roadrunner", and see what comes out on paper. Then create what your pen said.

Drive it as is. If you put the big motor in, you'll have to change the 833 4 speed to a Jerico or, God forbid, ruin it by putting an automatic tranny in it.

Bad news guys..........it's already an automatic.........

"My 68 Road Runner weighs 3385# without driver..

Old school 440 shortblock..11.5 trw's-6pak rods-stock crank..
eddy heads w/stage11 port by Nick at compu-flow..
600ish flat tappet comp cam specked by Nick..
M1 strip dominator intake with a 1050 carb..
hooker 2" headers thru 3-1/2" flow masters..

9" dynamic convertor (4500 stahl)..

727 trans..
4.10 8 3/4 rear..
s.s. springs..
11 X 29 slicks..
Runs 10.90'S and 6.90'S"

I'd trade you my TWO 69 B-bodies but you should just keep it and upgrade to the 493.
My 69 Rr is a low option 383/4-speed and to me it's worth more modified and fast than it is slow & stock. Non-#'s matching means go for it.

493, Cal-Tracs, Dana, a set of seats for more comfort, drag radial, and start racking up some street miles. Would be a GREAT street car and en even better smoke machine when the hammer is dropped!

Whoever said RRs aren't worth much should try buying something decent for less than $15K. I see completely stripped 2-door B-bodies going for $5K, at least they are advertised as such.

Or maybe I'm searching on another planet?

R.

Yep, especially if it runs on pump gas, or sell it to someone who'll actually take it as is and have fun with it.

It reminds me of a cross between my Challenger (mid-10 second pump gas street car) and the original 440-6 '69 Road Runner I used to have... I like it!

Whatever you want to do with it, and then drive the heck out of it. It wouldn't be that hard to remove what you put in, if you are worried about resale later on. Just don't cut it up. and then

Don't worry about "the bird". A rumor started by him states that he sold his car.

Do this. Go to my website and find out how. You're not that far away and it's a heck of a lot of fun. There's enough stock road runners out there already.
