Can I add a couple questions to the thread? Do both Doug's and TTI allow for PS in A-Bodies? And what issues may there be within the installation if one were to have a manual trans?

As mentioned, you either need to bend the lower arm of the Z bar or cut it off, move and weld it back on. The lower arm hits both header brands in the same basic place.

At least they now have a footnote for the z-bar issue. Every 4 speed car I've worked on has had this issue. I always enjoyed asking if they had fixed/addressed the issue only to be told they never heard about it over multiple years.

Most all the time with Dougs and tti, any issues with fit are because the engine is not in the right spot. Shims come in handy.

PS is not an issue with either header brand

My Dart had the later style spool mounts so no shimming was required.

I pulled the steering column out as a precaution but not necessary.

I run the TTI on my 69 Dart with a stock K-frame and had to shim the motor up about 1/4".

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
11.06 open headers----so far!!

I have to run two shims on pass side and one on drivers side to get my TTIs to fit. I also notched the motor mount slot in the driver's side k-frame to get the engine/trans to move back. After that headers fit with a lot of clearance no dents needed. Factory k-frames can be way off on some cars other cars they are fine. The factory just slapped the k-frames together the tolerances are all over the place.

What's the ground clearance difference between the TTIs and the Dougs??? Are they similar?? I certainly hope they don't hang down as low as the Hedmans I've had before. Thoughts???

Same as tti for clearance. Oil pan is lower than the headers.

tti has the same collector location, where do you think they got that? From looking at a set of Dougs...

I had TTI pipes in the FrankenDuster. It was a 360 with power steering and a 4 speed. I had a MP mini starter. Everything cleared nicely with new Schumacker poly engine mounts.
I've had a few heated exchanges with RobX over the TTI vs Dougs debate. He makes great points regarding the price difference. If the quality is essentially the same, why pay more?
