I have a big 440 under the hood and little itsy bitsy manual drum brakes....bad idea.
Has anyone had experience with putting a kit and from who would you recommend for this. Street driven but do need to stop....allot better.
I do have 15" wheels so I think I have room for it .
Thank you
Andy

Engineered Components was the kit I used on my '63. Uses the stock spindles & such. IIRC, about $500. Had to have brake lines made to swap from stock to dual MC.

A '62 Dart is a B-body isn't it? If so, then it should be easy to bolt the factory 11.75 inch setup on there. That works better than the kits when using a 15 inch wheel.

'62 Dart is a B-Body.

Except the "b body" nomeclature was not introduced until 1963.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I saw this kit, what do you think?
I would like a kit that does not use the delco looking double clip-on cap master cylinder it just bugs. This one looks decent?

A freak?

It is IMO for all intents and purposes, a named after the fact, one year only, Dart "B body", and always has had this nebulous pedigree, just to be clear.

I say just find some rotors and calipers you like that will fit your bolt pattern and wheel size. Make a caliper adapter and call it a day.

I'll agree with that. It can be as expensive or cheap as you want it to be.
Most discbrake-kits come with flimsy 10.5" rotors. Good enough for a weekend cruiser, not for something with performance.
With some fab-skills you can make your own adapters and use stuff that fits.

Speedway motors has a nice kit that includes everything from the spindles to the splash shields.

Personally, I wanted to save weight so I went with the slightly more expensive Wilwood kit that bolts to the existing drum spindles. Find someone that can safety wire and you're all set!
