Australian Pro Stock is small blocks only.
Tom Slawko has done P5 stuff prior to this endeavour. I would be curious as to whether they are a VED billet head with his changes, or his own head.
Despite all of that, there is no cast 4 barrel manifold available for the P5 head, so all of this talk is moot.
Certain BB combinations may be very difficult to get compression into, the chambers would need to be quite, quite small.
Carl Foltz has done some work on the P7 heads several years ago, I know Curtis Boggs @ RFD was looking into them at the time also.
Depending on how loose the rules are written, a cast tunnel ram with a single 4 top could be used. either that or one of the many cast intakes for the P7 could be worked over by Marcella or Wilson.
$50K wouldn't get the job done on something like this from a name builder IMO, I would expect it to up around $60-70K.

Kinda why I stated what i did ealrier. Plenty of each of those out there making that power. Along with Pro King Ford heads doing it. In a Mopar that is beyond rarified air. But there are a couple. Just dont think anyone ouot there has been really dedicated to making it happen with the Mopar Nascar stuff. The potential is certainly there but the market is almost non existent for that kind of power from a SB Mopar.

As I said Chris has one that is close and I think you could pick it up for a song.

As for budget, HA, Right!!!

Can it be done! YES

A friend of mine with an R5-P7 talked to Slawko and said they told him that 1100-1200hp would be doable out of a set of Virgin P7 heads in their hands. IIRC 410 would actually have been 1-2 cubes bigger than he was looking at going.

Down SIDE: Can you afford the maintenance of ANY 410cui engine that's going to make 1000+hp at 9000+rpms.

I read somewhere that the classes where they turn in excess of 9000rpms every weekend are spending $40000-50000 a year in valve springs alone. Looking at, at least 1 set per weekend at that rate.

That's not including any other maintenance.

If my plans for the future were more solid I woudl but that little small block. As it is I am up in the air as to waht to do right now. Want to go TS racing but no one is buying anything right now. So we may just park everything and reassess or just take some time off after this year.

Just trying to point out someone has a piece out there that will fit what the OP is asking for with alot of the r&d done already.

Dont need another Cuda. In fact cant seem to sell the ones I have. That is part of the issue. Maybe the economy will get better in the next year or so and people will be spending thier money again. For now we will likely park both cars and wait it out.

If you are wanting a P5 this one is on RJ. Cheap IMO for whats there
