LMAO I'm kinda in the same boat. I can't hear my A1000 pump over the 4" single chamber flowmasters.

I've always heard people say the Mallory pumps are quiet.

I run a A1000 (not in tank) and had 2 quit on me. Thier customer service took care of me. But there is no way I would but that pump in a tank. Outside the tank it is 2x as loud as a comp140 mallery.

I think you will be happier when a pump checks out (they all do) if it is easy to change.

I've got a Walbro 190, going to upgrade to a 255 this winter. I can't even hear it run, I have to look at the gauge A friend of mine has a 349in ford with an ebay single 88mm turbo made 670whp on a small tune and is driven almost daily with twin walbro 255's

*EDIT* you'll want to use a return system with these pumps, they are a pd pump and can't pump against high head pressures without popping lines/hurting the pump. I use a mallory 4309 bypass reg on my car, works great and always makes sure you have cool fuel

I agree... I run a Carter P4600HP in my 3,620lb race weight car and it traps 127mph, which is right at 600hp...I use a stock tank, sending unit with 3/8" pick up and 3/8" line to the carb...never have had any kind of fuel pressure issues...it's quiet and rated at 100gpm

Same pump I have been running for about 5 years. I had to put a kit in it after a couple years it starting leaking a little so I put a Holley kit in it. should support 600 H.P. pretty easy.

you probably don't remember, but I started a thread on here about those pumps and you shared the same experience as above. For 99 bucks shipped I got two pumps, and I figured i'd keep the spare with me in the trunk so if one crapped out I can just swap in the other to get home.

So far the first one has worked flawlessly, has maintained steady pressure for what im doing, and its unbelievably quiet for a pump that I have mounted to bare metal at the back of the car

I have to agree with these guys. I ran 10.76 @ almost 125 with just the Holley red pump which uses no external reg. I still use my stock gas tank with a 3/8 sending unit and 3/8 fuel lne. I have upgraded to the Firecore 140 pump with an external reg but have not got back to the track to try it yet but it runs good on the street. Its a bit less noisy then the Holley red pump but I dont care. I run a full 3" exh and can hear it a little sometimes when I am driving but I grew up in the 60's and 70's and back then if you could not hear the fuel pump it was not running. I am just joking as we used to say.........how do you know if your fuel pump is working if you cant hear it ? All I know is I play my radio when driving and I can hear it fine but I never seemed to mind a little fuel pump noise as I just got so used to it.

Oh and Rick (SunroofGTX) gave me great service getting my fuel pump and wires. Ron

Looks exactly like the one I used. Be careful though and make sure that the one you get says it is a 140gph, because they sell the lower gph ones and they look exactly the same. When I found mine I just typed in electric fuel pump, and it was the second one, but I can't find the seller who I bought mine from. I know they are probably all the same, but try searching 140gph fuel pump to see what you get, price, shipping,etc.

Whatever you do, don't buy the regulators- a holley 12-803 is cheap enough, and the ones on ebay are junk-mine cracked at one of the outlet fitting when tightening the fitting (was not even close to being tight yet either) and poured fuel everywhere.

Just to add also, I took both pumps apart when I got them just to check out the internals and make sure they were clean and in proper working order, reassembled and then tested them. As much as they are a good deal, I can't trust just bolting on a fifty dollar part without checking it
