My B&M ratchet shifter has worked flawlessly for 14+ years.........so easy a caveman could shift it.

maybe that's my problem. I 'm not a caveman.

I quit using it years ago out of frustration and it's put up. I had another one years earlier that did the same thing and I gave it away.

Went back to pushbuttons('65 tranny) so it's not an issue now.

B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet with Pistol Grip for me, never missed a shift. Best shifter I have ever owned.

I've bought, used and race both types of most of the popular brands out there. I now have a used Winters shifters in my Duster and another used Fairbanks for the new race car, 1965 Dart. T/A uses the same basic shifter as the Winters/Fairbanks except they are rear exit cables and sideways mounted shift linkage, it is a H.D. garbage truck shifter to start with(1/4 inch Morse cable, not a 1/8 inch diameter cable :thumb) and then made into a kit for race cars The T/A units are front mounted cable exit and hook onto the shift arms like all the other front shifted cable shifters. I have shifted it into 2nd gear when I left my hand on the shifter handle when I hit the throttle in first gear, probally several other racers on here have also Once you learn to stiffen your arm up enough to take a 1G+ launch your golden I've done the same thing on a ratchet shifter also I have never shifted mine into high gear from first I know of several other Mopar racers that would have bought the new Winters/Fairbanks shifters according to them but they where to much money for them at that time One of them has since replaced his B&M (maybe it was a Hurst) ratchet shifter because he wore it out, in 13YRS+ racing The H.D. truck units don't wear out Bottom line is it is up to you to decide which one you want Good luck

Just watch Pass Time every week and you'll have your answer. It's amazing how many automatic cars miss a shift on that show. I always run the B&M Pro Ratchet, impossible to ever miss a shift.
