8" rims? Seriously? They are way too small. It might "look" OK cosmetically but you are leaving a lot of performance on the table going that route. I ran 255/60R15's on 7" rims and if I didn't lower the tire pressure substantially the center of the tread wore out first. Which ought to tell you that in this case the entire tread width was NOT contributing. So I lowered the pressure enough that I had an even contact patch and ended up right on the edge of too little air pressure causing excessive sidewall flex making the rear wiggly.
Can you run those meats on an 8" rim? Yes, but if you are going to pay for the meats you may as well be able to use them completely by running the right width rim and 8" ain't it. It's more like 11", but 10's can work if you drop the tire pressure a bit.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

SuperCuda... Yeh.. I know... 295-50s on 8" rims may look cool around, but they will buldge alot... and they'd certainly benefit from 8.5-9-10" rims best (10" or 11"). So, more than likely I'm going to NOT get the 295-50s... probably 255-60-15 front and repeat the 275-60-15 BFG T/As.... just for street/hwy driving on my 15x8 vintage mini-lite rims. I have 16x10 road race rims for serious competition (275-45-16 Hoosier A6 race radials).

Pale roader -- your previous picture of the Chally with the 295-50s all around looked awesome, though the backspacing may have pushed them out a little too far... were those rims 15x8 SuperCoupe rims? or what? (the 8" Super Coupe rims have, I'm pretty sure, a 4.0" BS.. and it should properly become an 4.5" BS to fit properly with the retained centerline as a stock 7" rim. The "buldge" of these tires on the 8" rims is, I agree, too much. Those BFG tires are low-cost, as are most 15" rims, so, there's the comprimise.

Those are plain ol' 15x8" Ramcharger steelies, they take the Red-Line caps (with a slight stretch...). The backspace is 4 1/4". 4.5" would be better, but thats gonna involve building a wheel. The plan now is to use an aftermarket rim... just to get some weight off the car... but the ones i have in mind ONLY come in 4" backspace... so i mocked up that picture using 1/4" spacers. Thats exactly what it would roll like.
That said... its not going to actually work. I have yet to fully figure this out... but i will. The fender lip (top) will have to be completely rolled (as much as possibly without altering the look), the brace will have to be modified, and the front lip on the fender will have to be cut/trimmed, rolled or bashed. If this were any other Challenger i've owned that would have already been done... and the stuff mounted... but my fenders are original paint and rust/dent-free... its gonna be really hard to modify them...
Still have to decide which way to go... to bash, or to cut...

Considering my ride height is lowered, and size rims/tires, etc, and the SCCA class rules for "Street Prepared" (my class is E/SP) allows fender mods, etc, my lips are mildly flaired ... but done in a great stock-appearing way (my best friend/mopar buddy owns a body shop)... fronts are flushed/pulled a liitle and the top brace removed/not needed anyway; the rear were more difficult... lips cut/pulled but kept like stock appearance, lips re-welded and inner areas of fenders re-welded flush, etc... looks great and still apprears factory stock unless you'd really study them with another Chall next to it... all this done to accomodate 16x10 rims with originally 255-50-16 Hoosiers, later 275-45-16 Hoosiers.. you can barely fit your pinky fingers between tires and fenders... no rubbing even during racing! Then, with my 15x8 mini-lite rioms and 245-60 f, 275-60 r BFG T/A tires, there's plenty of space within the fenders.

Better shot of the wheels & tires. I have had these on there like this for over 12 years with no issues. I don't drive this car in road courses or anything so it is just fine on the street & gets many compliments on the looks.

Thanks for that info. Do you know if the Cuda has more or less room than the Challey? Also what back space on the wheels? What kind of clearance on the inboard side? Your lips do not appear to be rolled either. Is this true? Spring relocation kit with the 1" or the 1.5" offset? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks!
Damon

how bout 325/50's on a 10" rim dr diff relocators and a b body rear needed a 1/4 spacer on the pass side. espo drop springs in the top hole.
That rear does not look as lowered at Mitch's T/A. Do the tire rub with people in the back seat or going over a dip?

I love that look! Actually it was this picture of your Charger that set my mind for my wheel choice!

Looks like a drag tire. What manufacturer and model is that? I suspect it does not have the sidewall integrity demanded by high lateral loading that some on here could place on it.
