Ennis I missed second gear. Admission of this is my first step to recovery.

The next step is telling us why you didn't try for another pass. I got two in in Ennis no problem.

I have no real reason.Brain frt supreme.Since I was the only DD in our group we decided at the beginning of the week that we would hit the road after my run. That way if we had issues they could be addressed.Plus I wanted to LOL.

I see we have made some progress in this session, Don. Missed shifts are a performance issue, which must be dealt with by practice and focus. The ease at which you succumb to peer pressure and the lure of a cold beer however is something we must work on, and I have a feeling one may be easier to work through than the other. Please pay the receptionist on your way out...

Keefe, and Jay
Let's see, since Drag Week, Dad sold his shop that he owned for 20 years, one caveat, he had to clean it and the catch pen behind it out. 6 cars and 11 trailer loads of stuff had to be hauled the 70 miles from Fairland to the brothers' place in Owasso, including a 2 post lift and a 4 post lift. Then Boone took on a project rental house that Darren had dropped the ball on, and he's trying to fix that up. Long story short, the poor truck has sat, unattended since two days before Drag Week started. I would gladly leave the Valiant at home, if it meant the Truck was ready to go, but I'm 1200 miles away, I can throw money at it, but that doesn't mean anything is going to get done!

#22 was Clay Cunningham's 72 Dodge longbed D-100 with a mild 400 and a plate. After his brother brought home the Fastest Mopar plaque from Drag Week 2011, Clay decided he wanted in on the fun. It went great Monday-Friday, but on his first pass Saturday he snapped a stock axle. A veteran racer with respect for the track and fellow racers, he immediately moved against the wall, got out and checked for fluid leaks, then idled down the track, so he had to take a 20.00 at 50 mph for the last day that destroyed his average!

Tulsa 13.601-99.66
Ennis 13.282-99.64
Gilliam 13.241-101.08
Memphis 13.454-99.10
Tulsa 20.00-50.00

Finally, alas, there is one in every crowd, every Mopar race, every Friday night test and tune. That beautiful restoration, that muscle car that looks the part in every detail...then can't get out of it's own way.
I don't mean to cast aspersions at Walter Bashford or his gorgeous Plum Crazy 69 Charger! With the black vinyl roof, white R/T butt stripe, and rallye wheels, it was truly a stunning car. I never looked under the hood, so I have no idea if it was a cloned 318 2 BBL car or a full on 440 4bbl, but the performance certainly did not give a hint either way.

Tulsa 16.808-82.48
Ennis 16.977-83.13
Gilliam 16.901-83.06
Memphis 16.846-83.51

I don't blame ya Don. The guys I was running with (Clay and Casey) both had broken cars in Ennis and one of my slicks had a hole so I was happy taking an 11.10 and not pressing my luck! I really didn't want to be onthe ropes as well. Clay's truck broke an axle in Ennis and in Tulsa. In fact he drove it all the way home to Dumas, Texas with a broken axle!!
