Being sober and checking out some of my wiring I did a few years ago w/several drinks in me makes me question a few things here. My wiring skills are weak so bear w/me..........Seems I tied several hot wires into my fuse box and not too cleanly and the rest of my big pos. feed wires go directly to my ford relay under the dash so, can I tie all of the wires at the fuse box to the ford relay also? Actually there`s no room left on the pos. post so what would you guys do? Thankxxxx

that is what i do,you can then run inline fuses per item or a circuit breaker to the buzz bar.Or you just use an aftermarket fuse box - same effect

I am wiring up my car now........I found some Buss bars on ebay from a marine outlet and they had two kinds.....with fuse holders ( glass fuses ) and without. I am powering my relays with the fused one and using the other for low current stuff like the line lock and the switches for the relays. The name of the joint was Great Lakes supply I think , but I am not at the casa to double check. Pretty nice stuff and not a ton of money. Gotta add ....... congrats on 100 days. I know I have certainly done worse things with my life than putting down the juice.

Use a fuse block from Blue Sea or Buss and Run a #10 wire from the ford relay to the main post on the fuse block. That way you can fuse the line lock, ignition, etc. You can get fuse blocks that hold 4, 6 , 8, 10, or even more fuses. http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/e...CFWdxQgodxHcAJQ You can also buy fuse blocks with a ground bus so one big ground wire can be ran to the battery/body/whatever and all of the stuff you have powered can have ground that land in the same place. Hope that helps, let me know if you need part numbers. Get some wire labels too, it makes trying to figure out exactly what the hell you were doing six years ago much easier. DAMHIK!

They make them with the newer (than the twist) plastic blade type ATO/ATC fuses as well. For the big stuff I use thermal circuit breakers that will shut off and be usable once reset if the problem is repaired.

Thankxxx guys.......... Wish I could completely wire the whole car but I`m putting my friends 67 big block 4-speed Mustang together from a bare shell up and it`s killin me. This thing was in body shop jail for almost 5 years and the guy told him he spent his money on coke and laughed in his face. Took me 2 hrs. just to figure out how to install one back window and it will leave here complete and running w/a freshly built 480-500 hp 390 so maybe after that......... In the mean time I`ll check out the fused busses IF that`s the best route. Thankxxx for the not drinking kudos........much appreciated.

Tex, its a BUSS bar, usually a 1/8" piece of copper strip 1/2" wide as long as you need it, then drill to fit #10-32 threads and screw your wires down. You need a stand off to insulate it, used in the aircraft industry a lot. Tim

I cleaned up about 2/3 of my "rats nest" w/a buzz bar and a stand alone fuse block and used those blade type fuses that glow when they blow. It looks a lot better. Get a buzz bar w/ lots of terminals. You'll be suprised how many you use.
I'm considering a installing another bar for grounds.
Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Another thought; Make yourself a wiring diagram when you do re-wire. You'll thank yourself later.
Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Tip: check your local hardware store in the home electrical area for boxes of uninsulated terminals. They're nice for soldering to the wires and covering with shrink tube. Looks more professional and has less resistance than crimp-on connectors, and in many cases they're less expensive. Same deal on butt-splices where the wire is sleeved or you don't want a visible extension of the wire.
What he said...and dip the stripped wire ends in no-ox compound...
