I'd still have to change that carb! looks like one of them shrunken head people...

Yeah, but it sure is shiney....And it runs really well so far. Car is in getting the rear changed to 4.56's, so hopefully we hit my ET goal

What is your ET goal?

Well, if my guess on the actual car weight is correct at 3300lbs, and the guess on the Hp of the engine is close, we should be running 10.51 once we get it dialed in. I wish I had more motor or less weight, but that is what the calculator states for 700hp at 3520lbs race weight with me in it. I am very optimistic we will beat that, maybe even yet this season...

When I first built this engine they really didn't have a lot of choices for strokers, so we went with what they had for a stock block. I would love to run this engine with a 4.25 or even a 4.5 stroke, but this was all I have right now.

The new cam choosen seems to kill any bench racing wood I might have had going thru the numbers, but I am actually happy with how easy it starts, runs, and how drivable it is. The old cam shows nearly 90hp more in the Desktop Dyno, so its really not what I would consider an improvement, but when you consider all the work required to fix the valve train after running my old cam on the street, it just makes better sense. I can't afford to rebuild this engine every year. My engine builder has a nack for building pump gas screamers with mild cams, and this was his choice, so we are running with it and it goes what it goes.

The induction absolutely was not my choice either. We are not allowed to run the EFI, so its what we could put togather and run legally. I do not like multi carbs for racing, and I know this intake and the Barton intake work really well, again, we used what we knew.

And as far as perfomance, we literally broke the cam in on Thursday night, and went to TNT the next afternoon with an untested carb and had almost no issues. Heck, the dang thing wasn't even leaking anything. That's not normal for a hemi.

We are shooting for TNT for this Friday, but the weather looks bad. The 1/4 track has a scale too, so we can verify the weight. The car weighed 3000 with the W2/408 and the same trans as we are running with the Hemi, so I figure 3300 with the new engine. We will see.
