Always a great feeling when you run a new best. If you keep at it I have a hunch you will get your 11 sec pass this fall or sooner.

Why the 2 tenths and 2 MPH improvement on the last run?

I think that`s really good for that combination in that car especially w/those gears. Your mph is approaching 11`s..........what were your 60`s, what`s it weigh and where does the converter stall at.

That's terrific for that gear and convertor.

On the 12.05 run it ran 1.75 60 foot time. The other runs were 1.80 and 1.81. I bring the converter up to 2 grand at the line. Thats all my brakes can hold. Not sure what it flashes to. The car weighs close to 3900 with me in it

Well i sat in the staging lanes for 2 1\2 hours. The car was completely cooled off and i had taken the air cleaner off just to see if there would be a difference. Other than that i never touched it!

Interesting improvement on the 3rd (12.05) pass, but they're all strong given your gear & weight. Might try flashing the converter from say 1200-1600 instead of 2000 if you haven't already.

Nice car + good e.t. = Recipe for celebration.
Would be interesting to know e.t. with a 4.10:1 ratio.

Joe..those are excellent times..especially considering the weight of the car..and an anemic 3:23 gear ratio! If you installed a 3:91,or 4:10..and a 9.5" Dynamic,or similar converter..your 1.7-1.8 short times would be a thing of the past! I'm sure it would improve both, the E.T. and the trap speed,as well! Keep up the good work...and go get that 11 second time slip this Fall, when it cools off a bit! Randy

Nice running combo!!

Id leave the gear and get a 4500ish flash vert.

Well i really have no desire to change the coverter. I like the fact that i can drive the car everywhere. It runs hard and still gets 11 mpg and can do 120 on the highway all day.......lol.....But i might be up for swapping the gear. Waht do you guys think i should go with? 3:91 or 4:10?

I vote 3.91's however it would be a real bragging right thing to tweak it here and there to get an 11 with those 3.23's.

Joe..you can kiss going 120 on the highway goodbye, with either gear change! I believe I'd swap a 4:10 into it,before a converter swap. Just my opinion! Like I said before..keep up the good work! 11's coming SOON!

Dude, it aint 1980... A quality 4500 flash vert will be every bit as driveable as the vert you have now...with better slip numbers on the big end.I had a 9.5 ptc and a 9 inch fairbanks that had 3.23s, 3.55s and 4.30s behind them. It drove the same with all of em..I have a 8 inch TA that is so dang tight the guy at the muffler shop thought it was a stock vert...but flashes at 5k.

Its sort of confusing, you like the driveability, but want to go to a deep gear? Not that a 4.10 is a bad gear selection, but that statement goes against driveability. BTW, your 11 mpg will probably be slashed with the gear you suggested and there goes your 120mph on the hwy as well.

Squeeze, where you at?? Chime in...

Because you ran a 12.30 @ 111 and a 12.05 @ 113 on the same day suggests to me that the you don't go to the track a lot and that there are probably only small details keeping you from the 11s now.

Then you can say that you got to the 11s without changing either the converter or gear.

Russ has a very good point! Work on optimizing your tune...and driving skills, and you might be pleasantly surprised..with an 11 second time slip!

What was the 60 foot? best way to knock 2 tenths at the stripe is to knock one off your 60 foot. For 11's I'd think you'd want to be in the 1.60's

Yuor right its only the second time time ive had it at thetrack in 8 years. Started a family and gave up the racing part for awhile. And no i didnt tweak on it at all. Just drove it there and ran it....wanted to get a few good runs in to get a base line before i started messing with it.

wait for some cool air, and collect your 11 second pass...then go ahead and ruin in with steep gears to only pick up a couple tenths.

good luck
