Ok, this is the part I cannot remember. It looks like you said this was on the '72 models??? I have an early build '71 (9-70)I purchased from the original owner in late '77. The doors are/were original to the car, but I took these out. Can you describe or show me (photo) how they bolt/mount back in?
that piece i only found in one of the 6 doors i took apart. i still have more doors to disassemble.. 4 of the doors that didn't have it, i know for sure were 71 doors and they were never taken apart before i even have the plastic barrier in mint shape i took off under the door panel. the door that did have it, had a few differances besides that part, the guard around the lock was different and something else that escapes me at this moment thats why i thought it was a 72 piece. anyway it goes on the top of the window guide the rubber part catches the leading edge of the interior side of the glass when the window rolls up. it is sort of a pita to fit in. the 2 holes is where it goes the rubber goes towards the front of the door the part is sandwiched under these 2 bolts

Do you have to seperate the glass from the rest of the mechanism to take out or will everything come out as an assembly?
you have to separate the glass from the rail while it is inside of the door. that task is the hardest part to getting them apart.. i tried the other way and it was too tight too pull off, the glass will be scraping up its side..no good.
the worst part of them is the screws/retainer that hold the rails on to to the glass. they are usually corroded real bad and hard to get off a few of the doors i had had bolts put in thier place and a couple of them i had to even drill out/cut away while they were still inside the door!
the first few pics i showed were taken from a door that the outer skin was cut away so you can see a view that you will never see other wise. that is the way i have that pic with the rails still attached to the window glass. i know mine are going back together with anti-seize on them

And, is there an easy way to determine which is te Right or left regulator from each other? I can see their springs are in opposite directions. Sure I figure it out, but just askin if there is an easy way.
i would have to dig them out and look i kept all my door parts separate.. pass side/drivers side that way if a latch or a part was different i wouldn't have to find out the hard way
