Done all that. Even installed another pump. Same deal. The press reg valve has no scratches on it or has it ever nor has it ever been stuck in the bore.
Hutch
Was the pump replaced with a different brand of pump, or another Melling like the one that was on it? If another Melling I'd try a stock replacement, like a TRW or such...

Tried 2 pumps..........same.
Has roller lifters...........
Never loses oil pressure after it gets it.....
Oil pickup is off the pan by .375".........
Car may be posessed? Requires exorcism?
Had 3 guages connected one in the car and 2 from the head oil feed lines, they read the same.
Im thinking something is blocking the guage port feed at times but I don't know what it is.
I have run this thing for awhile when its registering zero lbs of oil pressure and it sounds fine. Its been awhile since I looked at the oil gallery layout so I decided to ask before looking out of laziness.
Thanks for all the replies.
Hutch
Well if you think something might be blocking the oil gauge port, put in a 1/8 pipe hose fitting and put a hose on it to a bucket and fire it up to blow the oil out and maybe the obstruction (then look in the bucket)

Thanks for all the replies. I have had many suggestions even one to check for dirt daubers as apparently then can make a mess of anything when they are in storage for awhile !! I have done a flow test , no silicone etc. I also went and threaded the oil pump and installed a guage right into the pressure port. When it says no oil pressure it has none. I am planning to just pull it all apart, there has to be a problem in this motor somewhere and I will report back when its apart instead of letting it fly apart. Hutch
