I have an oil pickup tube like this except bent & am wondering if the mopar performance one is the actual replacement for the HP motor w/windage tray. Jeg's said they use a stock photo so just wondered of anyones ordered this from Summit or Jeg's & received the wrong one.

summit shows this....I need this style

mopar performance via Jeg's shows this....

I assume the top one is correct for the windage tray style, is that accurate?
Thanks ,evan

The stock mellings are straight like the mopar performance. My machinist has the oil pick up I ordered from summit racing. When I get home from vacation I will see if it fits the 402 pan correctly.

that'd be great. I think I have the 402 pan as well - I'll double check the # on it. I assume you've got a 383 HP motor for your rig then?

appreciate the help!

Evan

The top pickup picture is the one you want for a 402, it's an MP part, I have bought a few over the last year or so . the onethat jegs is saying is incorrect if it is a different part number than the summit part.

A search using the little google search function will bring up at least one thread about this.

thanks John, I do have the 402 pan so how do I know which part # is the correct one? MP # is P5007848 on summits site, will that be the curvy one in the pic or the straight one? i should of said before both sites show the same part number but different pic's.

I did search the google box & I guess there's multiple questions about the oil pickup confusion.

all you did was show pictures , I told you which picture was the correct one , you did not include a part number or links to an item , the part number you just gave is the WRONG part , the picture doesn't matter.

The pickup for the 402 pan is P4529564

thanks for the part number for the 402 pan pickup, appreciate it.

The only reason I showed the picture of the top pickup that's curved is because it looks EXACTLY like the one that came out of my motor hence my thinking about the part # that shows it as a P5007848.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-5007848/Application/?prefilter=0

whereas the other sites show a straight pickup as the same #- I just didn't know which one is correct. Perhaps the one that came out of my motor wasn't correct in the first place, I don't know as i haven't taken a 383 apart before.

thanks again for the part number.

a quick follow up on this - I called Mancini racing & asked if they still had 402 pan kits (which they're out of currently) told him which pickup I was looking for & he stated that the closest to original I was going to get for an 69 HP 383 motor was the P5007848 pickup.......confusing huh.

so I've ordered both from Jeg's & we'll see what I end up with. Mancini's reasoning was the 7848 was going to get the closest to the bottom of the pan vs. the 9564.

We'll see.
Thx.
