I just know the fuel pump can't suck through a filter made for after the fuel pump, it don't matter what year, gas is gas.
Very few people understand gas and it characteristics. Got to know it to make big power.
I've ran it both ways and my motor still makes "big power" either way. There has to be a reason the book shows it before the pump.
How long were you able to keep your foot into it and how hot was it? Driving around town does not put the fuel delivery to the test, holding it wide open for miles at a time does. Don't run the filter in front of the pump, it will be wrong and will hurt performance when it's hot out. Just trying to help you, the sock in the tank is the only filter before the fuel pump, I'm positive. web page

Well I didn't do a whole mile, LOL but wide open through all three gears, 95 degree heat and it didn't falter, pulled real hard.

There's also traces of paint on the pump, it clearly was painted.

I could be persuaded to let go of my NOS one with the "made in Israel" stamp.

OK,does anyone have a sorce for these filters.I dont really need a exact replica, but I thought I read recently that the metal ones are getting hard to find???
Someone posted NAPA 3032 and I went there to buy 3 for $4 a piece. I think its a good deal. I believe they are made in USA. It was hard when I was going around to the big box auto stores.

440 and hemi used the lower hard lines.
383 cars use as shown, note the angle the lower fitting exits the pump
Any idea on small blocks what should be used ? Specifically 65 B with a 318 poly?
Just spent 2 hours bending a lower hardline (space is very tight) in 94* heat. I just assumed all were hardline from the factory - all I ever worked on before is RB and Hemi's
Was all pleased with myself how it turned out.. now I feel pretty stupid

My 72 FSM has a whole section on the 6bbl induction system. The FSM isn't always right.
Why not there are 72 6 pack cars
