Hey on your Big blocks and Strokers what intake and carb combo are you guys using. The guy building my motor offered to sell me this Holly carb at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-4781S/?rtype=10
He offered it for 350 and it looks rather new, I want to try and get an affordable combo that gives me good performance. The power ban for my cam is 1800-6000 rpm's and I want to use the 4 barrel 6 pack looking air cleaner so I know intake height is an issue. I just want to see what components you guys own and love that are affordable.

The old tryed and true 850 double pumper is hard to beat. As for me....well I think I'm the only guy running a 605 Hemi with a Weiand tunnel ram and 2 850 Thermoquads.Dave

Holley Street Dominator is a good, power making manifold that is not too high for clearance issues . Like said above, the 850 dp is a good carb.

Sometimes, bigger aint always better, as the old saying goes. The best bet is to look up flow charts online and then have access to a dyno to tune in whichever carb you decide to get. I'd say no less than a 750. But it's funny how the dirt track guys can turn out 500+ HP using a single-line 600.

On my 408 stroker for my truck, I undersized it a bit...running an eddy rpm air-gap w/ a holley street avenger 780cfm on it. Works great. Stock gears and stockish TC.

If going with a DP, if you've got a manual trans, it's all good...nothing better. If you've got an auto, make sure you've got a higher stall T/C...

On my mild 496 I run an old Edelbrock CH4B and a Holley 750hp mech secondary.I have run it with an 850 but the heavy pig has better throttle resonse with the smaller throttle bores.

When I was running 3.23-3.55 gears and smaller headers it ran strong with a modified 750 vacuum secondary with the choke horn milled.

I have run the street dominator as well but I prefer the better idle and low end of a dual plane intake with my big ol girl.

My mild 440 has an 800 Holley/proform main body double pumper on top a mopar M1 single plane. Since I got it all sorted out last week it flat out runs!

770 street avenger on RPM intake on the 505" stroked 440, but it's too tall for the stock '69 Coronet hood. Street Dominator would have fit better.

Stock 440-6 pack...I love it. But it's hard to beat and old school Holley DP.

Mighty demon annual booster on top of an edelbrock performer RPM. With a 1/2" phenolic 4 hole spacer inbetween. The spacer really helped my idle out (248/254 cam) as did the idle-eze of the Demon.

Geez Louis!

Did ever test that against a single 4bbl Tunnel Ram?
