if i can figure out an engine first ill know if i even need a cage.a 509 cam engine will either run low 12's or somewhere in the 11's.im gonna get one but,im not worried about the rest of the car i still have to build most of it,all thats been done so far to the car its self is mini tubbed springs moved into frame, frame is tied, and has motor plate mounts, manual brakes/steering,non a/c car,the car is gutted,im only gonna run one poly racing seat in it with some thin carpet to cover the metal.the 67 dart gt will be 75% track the other 25% will be around the block, and possibly car show.im gonna run a dana 60 with 430 gears or 456 gears 29.5x11.50x15 m/t tubed slicks.

With Stealth heads your compression ratio wouldn't be that bad with 80cc chamber and 2266 pistons.

My Duster went 10.60's at 124 on pump gas with a 509.

446cu
TRW slugs
LY rods
stock crank
Eddy RPM's ootb
Proform main body 750
Hooker Super Comps
Coan 5200 stall
4.56's

Pistons were .060 in the hole for a massive 8.5-1 compression...

With steel heads and pump gas I would limit compression to 10-1. Could go higher with aluminum. I had a similar combo in a 64 Plymouth that ran 11.70's in good air through the mufflers. 440, 10-1 compression, 509 cam installed at 106(?), Performer RPM, 850 DP, 3500 stall, 3.91 gears on a 28" drag radial. Didn't have a chance to tweak it as I ended up selling the car. In a Dart, being about 400 lbs lighter, you should be well into the 11's if it hooks up.
