The a-body console will go over it if you remove the b-body shifter plate. The one I have in my Barracuda is the know type and actually has an early chrome knob on and it works fine.

I was going to do that exact thing in my 69 Dart, I just havent the courage to mess the floor area up yet as my car still has the column shifter. But the thing I was going to do different was to mill out the shifter area on the A-body console and it looks like it would just fit over the shifter like the way it does in the E-bodies. Definately a better type shifter than the A-body one.

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
